John rubbed his forehead. “What if we-“ Before he could finish his sentence, the doorbell rang.

"Doorbell, not a case obviously. If it was urgent, they would knock. Observation, John!" Sherlock said. "You can get the door."

“He’s so bored he’s shooting the wall, but he’s not too bored as to answer the bloody door…” John grumbled as he went down the stairs to greet their visitor.
(Okay I have no idea who should be at the door)

(Me neither. Maybe a mysterious package or something, I dunno? Possibly from Moriarty? I guess whatever you want.) "And if it isn't any trouble, which I'm sure it isn't since you never do anything anyways, could you make us some tea?" Sherlock called down to John.

(Ooh, interesting, I’ll go with that)
“Ask Mrs. Hudson to do it!” John grumbled as he opened the door only to find no one there. He leaned his head out of the door and looked both ways, but there was no one. At last he glanced down to see a package wrapped in brown paper. “Sherlock, there’s something at the doorstep!” John said while gingerly picking it up.

"Brilliant powers of deduction, John, you can finally see past your own nose." Sherlock rolled his eyes.

John carried the mysterious object up to Sherlock. “Come have a look at this, it’s a package of some sort.”

"Mmm. I see. Rectangular, weighs about fourteen ounces by the look of it. Solid. I'd say it's a book of some sort." Sherlock said in a casual, practically bored tone.

“Should we open it?” John asked, eyeing the presumed book warily.

"If you want to. Not the most interesting, in my opinion." he mock yawned.

John shrugged. It was just a book after all, nothing dangerous. He tore open the paper to reveal, just as Sherlock thought, a book of some sort. John flipped it over to reveal the cover.

Sherlock stared up at the ceiling. Why were there no murders around for him to solve?

Curiously, the front cover was blank, but when John checked the inside, there were two letters. JM.

"Have you found anything interesting about the book, John?" Sherlock asked.

John swiftly set the book down. “The initials JM are on the inside cover,” he turned to Sherlock. “Moriarty?”

"JM can mean me lots of things." Sherlock said, truly hoping this wouldn't mean Moriarty. He'd had enough of that bastard, almost killing John and mocking Sherlock's own intelligence.

“What else could it mean? Sherlock, you know Moriarty is the most logical reasoning by far.” John insisted. “Take a look, this could lead to a case.”

"I would rather not assume until I have evidence, John." Sherlock said.
