Damascus pulls a set of pictures out of thin air and shows them to Mike. "First off, she's a scientist, and a dangerous one at that. She's been a thorn in the sides of nearly every god lately, particularly me. Rin's experiments have gotten a little out of hand, and her tribute to me is late. If you can't secure my payment, I want you to kill her."
Sliding into the roleplay forums
He studies the pictures carefully. "All right. Normally I work for scientists, not against them, so this'll be interesting. Any idea where I might find her? The world's a big place these days."
The god fishes something out of his vest pocket and gives it to Mike. "This is a dimensional key. It's automatically set to the dimension she should be currently in. The dimension is called Blackwash, and you should end up on the planet Aquari." He flips the key upside down, and an eye-shaped hourglass starts to count down. "It's set to disintegrate after you return. If you need to speak with me again, it will also act as a communications device."
"Thanks. Oh, and one more thing. You said she was dangerous. What should I be on the lookout for, exactly?"
He chuckles. "Oh, just what you would expect from a mad demonic scientist. This one happens to specialize in mutants, particularly. Just try not to get infected by any of her experiments. Then I'd really have to kill you."
"Great. Got it." Mike pockets the key. "Guess I'll be off then. Has the payment been made yet, or are you one of those people that likes to wait 'till after delivery?"
"I'd be happy to give you a down payment. How much would you like up front?"
"Let's say half for now. I've got some paychecks of my own to distribute."
He hands Mike a clip of cash
"Thank-you. Have a good evening." Turning, he walks back out, down the hall, through the main casino, and into the rain once more. This could be an interesting week.
(I'm not sure what your character does now that they're separated, unless you're thinking of changing characters for a while?)
Back in the casino, Damascus sips a glass behind the bar with Arik. "I almost feel bad for the poor guy. You really sent him on a death mission," the bartender says. The god rolls his eyes. "Oh, like you care. Besides, I still have to activate his key." He dips a finger in his drink and stirs, and the liquid rises and swirls into a circular shape. Damascus keeps twirling his finger in front of the circle of liquid, the alcohol spinning faster and faster
(Oh yeah I'll probably end up playing the scientist and a helper character or something)
(Ok)
Mike boards the helicopter and goes to see the pilot. "Hey, I'm back."
Jacob waves at him. "Hey, boss. Where to?"
Mike places the key down on the dash board. "Follow this. We could be talking another dimension, so be ready for a rough ride."
"You got it." Jacob takes the controls and lifts them into the air. "Anything else?"
"Nope." Mike sits down, his eyes on the sky outside. "Let me know when we seem to be getting close."
The helicopter starts to sway back and forth. On the dash board, the key has started to rattle and the eye's hourglass starts to swirl
Jacob yelps. "You weren't kidding about the rough ride!"
"Try and hold her steady, shouldn't last long."
The rocking gets worse, and the key starts to wildly spin on the dash. The helicopter's lights flicker madly, and in the flashes of darkness glowing eyes seem to watch the two. Suddenly, the key stops spinning and points forwards. A massive inky creature covered in glowing eyes appears right in front of the helicopter, its mouth open terrifyingly wide
Jacob screams–in a manly way, of course. "Is this supposed to happen??"
"I have no idea! Hopefully!"
The creature swallows the helicopter, and suddenly they're flying above the most clear water they've ever seen
(Early warning: I have to go to supper soon but not quite yet)
"Whew!" Jacob shakes his head. "Okay…that was way too weird."
(No problemo my dude) Below them, a massive creature that seems to resemble a water dragon swims just below the water's surface. Its body is covered in bioluminescent markings, and it flashes them repeatedly at the helicopter
Mike whistles. "Now, there's a valuable creature, I'll bet. Imagine how much the rich snobs back home would pay for a handful of scales."
"I hear ya. Too bad we're busy, eh?"
"Too bad. Why don't you take her up a bit, in case we look tasty." (I'll be back in a hour-ish, see ya!)
The sea monster's flashing increases, and it swims in quick circles. Seemingly distressed, it dives down underneath the crystal water
(Oh ok, cya !)
(I'm back!)
Mike shrugs. "Okay then. See land anywhere?"
Jacob scans the horizon. "I'll let you know."
Suddenly the sea monster leaps out of the ocean and grabs the helicopter by its tail
