Finn knelt down next to him getting a small box out of his bag. Trying to stay calm as not to scare him.
Soulmate AU // OxO // Closed
Jay jumped when he noticed Finn, wiping the tears off his face with his hand. "What do you want." He snarled, arms curled around his legs. "And don't give me bullshit. You've made it very clear you don't give a fuck about me."
Finn clenched his jaw opening the small box. “I don’t but I can’t have you walking around like that,” he said looking through the small first aid kit.
(gtg for reals now. Good night!)
Jay snorted. "Go away." He replied. "I dont need your help."
(Night)
He rolled his eyes and took some cream out. “This will help with the bruises,” he explains.
"I don't give a shit about the bruises." Jay replied roughly, pushing Finn away and getting up. "Not like it's the first or worst time I've had bruises." His voice was bitter, angry.
“Well I care put it on or I’ll put it on for you,” he threatened unscrewing the cap.
Jay backed up a step. "Do you care or not?" He snapped. "Because you said twice that you don't, and just now that you do. So which is it?"
“I care about my image and your glowing bruised fist with my hands in gloves don’t exactly help that,” he snapped back.
"Good to know." Jay replied, opening the door. "Fuck your image. Leave me alone." he lashed out, face twisted up with anger and the effort not to cry.
He grabbed Jay by the hand and pulled him back into the bathroom. “Listen here how about we make a deal?” He asked face blank of emotions.
Jay pulled his hand out of Finn's grip, face going alarmingly blank. "No." he replied, going to the door again. "Leave me alone. I don't want to make a deal with you. I don't want your help. I don't want you anywhere near me. Do you understand?" his eyes were empty now. Blank. "You've made it quite clear that the very idea of me repulses and disgusts you. So get away from me, and stop this. I don't want to get my hopes up again, just for you to shit all over it."
Finn Flinched and tried to hide his hurt. “You dont-you dont repulse me,” Finn admits letting his hand fall.
Jay let out a harsh, discordant laugh. "Really? So that's why you're so against the idea of ever being my soulmate?" he shook his head. "Do you have any idea what this is like? First you say you don't care, then you're trying to fix the bruising, then saying you hate me again and it's just for your fucking image." he crossed his arms. "Don't give me bullshit."
“I’m just confused ok! This wasn’t how anything was supposed to happen. If this spreads…” he shakes his head. I’m sorry this isn’t fair to you but can you please help me out just this once then we never have to talk again if you don’t want to!”
"I never expected the world to be fair." Jay replied coldly. "I just thought maybe I would have a soulmate who cared. Whose love I didn't have to earn the way I do everybody else's. But you hate me too. I was just naïve. That's fine." he shook his head a little. "If anyone asks about the bruises, it was my dad again, okay? I just…please just leave me alone." he turned to the door again.
“I-I don’t hate you,” he mumbled but let him leave. He turned to gather is things. Placing everything back in the first aid kit and then his bag.
Jay fled, trying not to cry again. He went to an empty, deserted hallway, and curled up in a ball, burying his head in his arms. I can't do this. He had known that it wasn't the best idea to hang all his hopes on a soulmate, but…he had thought…he let out a soft sob, crying again.
Finn stood up his eyes watery but he didn’t let any tears show. He walked around the halls not wanting to go back to math class Incase Jay did. He heard sobbing down a hallway and walked towards it.
Jay went quiet again, head buried in his arms, curled in a tiny ball. He had squeezed into a space between two lockers, hidden from sight.
Finn decided to go back to class. Once here he realized Jay never came back. He wrote notes for him.
Jay missed the rest of class, and came back at the end to get his backpack. His eyes were red, and he didn't even look in Finn's direction as he grabbed his bag, putting it on and walking out again, head down.
Finn stopped by Jays locker a little while after class. He had a free period. His notes with a sticky note in hand. He hoped Jay wouldn’t be there.
The locker was the exact same way it had been when Finn's friends had finished with it. The giant dick still drawn on it. A few papers Jay had missed laying on the floor with footprints on them. Jay himself had headed to his next class, and sat down in the back, putting his head down.
Finn picked up all the loose papers. He folded them up and smiled them into the locker along with his notes and a sticky note that read. “I’m really sorry meet me in the back of the library for an actual explanation” in neat handwriting. He didn’t even sign it knowing Jay will know who it’s from.
(gonna do a little timeskip~)
Jay went to his locker when his class was over. He kept his eyes off the dick on it, trying to ignore the snickers and giggles that he heard. He opened it with a savage, angry wrench, and papers spilled out. He sighed, and bent, picking them up. He found a note, read it. Hesitated, knowing who it was from. No. I can't get my hopes up. He doesn't care, and he never will. He swallowed, leaning on the locker and closing his eyes. He never will. Stop trying to convince yourself otherwise. He doesn't love you. No one does. So stop this. Go to class, and keep your head down, you fucking fag. At some point, his internal voice had turned from his own into his father's, and he didn't notice it.
(Time skip to after school? I meant to write “meet after school” on the note)
(sure)
Finn waited in the back of the library hoping that Jay got his note and didn’t decide to just ignore it. He sat at a empty table that had no one around. His leg bouncing and hand twitching.
Jay sighed. It can't hurt anything to go… So he went. He made his way to the back of the library, and saw Finn. He sat down across from him, setting his backpack down beside him and crossing his arms. The mark on his cheek was still shining faintly, and the bruises looked even worse.
