@Spider-man

Finn bit his lip. He hadn’t taken his gloves off all day but he could feel the faint glow and it probably peaked out near his wrist. “Thank you for coming,” he started not looking Jay in the eyes.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Just get it over with. I have to take the bus today." Jay replied, studying Finn for a moment, then turning his attention to the table.

@Spider-man

Finn paused for a moment. “I umm if your not angry after this I can drive you home,” he suggests looking up.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay shrugged. "We'll see." he replied. All he could hear was his father's voice in his head, shouting and angry and so, so disappointed.

@Spider-man

“Ok so…I knew my soulmate was going to be a guy I’ve accepted that I liked guys years ago,” he admitted.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay peeked at him, frowning a little. "Then why…?" he trailed off, looking down at his hands again. It's my fault, isn't it? What did I do or say this time that drove him away?

@Spider-man

“I umm I accepted that I liked guys back when my parents where alive. I came out to them and a few close friends. They where really accepting and perfectly fine with it..” he said trailing off slightly. His eyes went back to the table. “But when they…passed my aunt took me and my sister in. Let’s just say the rest of my family doesn’t need to know..”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded a little. At least his parents accepted it, but… He swallowed, listening quietly. He glanced at Finn again, then back at the table.

@Spider-man

“I’m really sorry but that’s why I can’t let any of this get out. Not for a few more years,” he explained playing with his hands. “I’m really sorry.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay's lips tightened a little, and he looked away. "Fine. Whatever." he muttered. "Is that everything?"

@Spider-man

He shrugged “if you don’t have anything to say then sure. I can still drive you home if you want?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay grabbed his backpack. "No. You shouldn't. My dad would…" he gestured vaguely at the shining mark on his face. "Just…" he shook his head again.

(so…what if the marks glow every time they're within a certain distance of each other? Just because it would add drama lol)

@Spider-man

(Ooo that’ll work)
“Oh yeah,” he said. “Imm going to do some research on that tonight to see if we idk hide it since we do have a few classes together,” Finn said.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(alright cool)

Jay let out a breathy laugh. If he didn't laugh, he felt like he might cry again. "Makeup. I can get some from my mom, tell her I'm hiding bruises from dad again." he replied with a small shrug.

@Spider-man

He bit his cheek at that suddenly wanting to protect the other boy. “Ok but I’m not sure if that’ll hide the glow,” he explained.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Then I don't know what you want me to do!" Jay exclaimed, turning to look at Finn. "Because that's the only thing I can do, that won't require too much explaining."

@Spider-man

“I don’t need you to do anything. I said I’ll do the research. I’ll deal with everything,” he explained trying to calm Jay down.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again. "Fine." He said, raking a hand through his hair. The bruise on his cheek was dark now, a splotch of purple and green on his fair skin.

@Spider-man

he stood up. “I’ve got to get going but can we meet here again tomorrow before school?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He hesitated. "I…maybe." he replied. "It depends on when I arrive."

@Spider-man

He wrote something on another sticky note. Handing Jay his number. “Can you text me if you are coming? I’ll be waiting right here.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay took it, and put the note in his pocket. "Alright." He said softly. "I have to get going, or I'm going to miss the bus." And dad will be pissed about the mark, and if I'm late getting home or if he has to pick me up… it'll be even worse.

@Spider-man

He nodded standing up. “I’ll see you then,” he said gathering his things. He had football practice and then had to pick up poppy.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, then took off for the bus. I have to make the bus I have to get home. He thought, stumbling onto the bus just as the doors began to close and the buses started pulling away.

@Spider-man

Finn went to football practice all fidgety. Once there he avoided all of his team mates eyes in the locker room and so did they.
(Time skip to morning?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(sure. I actually came up with a plan that I'm going to do…so Jay doesn't show up the next morning, and doesn't text ahead. He isn't at school all day, either. When he comes to school the next day, he's late, and looks like he got beaten to kingdom come. Like limping and black eye and stuff. (His dad is…really abusive, which I've been sorta hinting at). So is it alright if I handle the timeskip and do that? If not, that's totally fine too)

@Spider-man

(I’m fine with that!)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(alright cool, thanks)

The next morning rolled around, and Jay never showed up at the library. Didn't text, didn't call, didn't show. He wasn't in class all day, wasn't in the hallways. Wasn't even at school. Which was odd, as the smaller male had almost never missed a full day of class. The next morning, though…Jay limped into class late, a hood pulled over his face. He was wearing a hoodie that was a few sizes too large, and it draped around his body. The teacher marked him as tardy, and asked that he remove his hood. He did, revealing that his left eye was bruised and blackened. A blood vessel had burst in it, tainting the whole white of it red. His lip was split and scabbed.

@Spider-man

Finn has watching him walk in from the corner of his eye. When he noticed the state he was in he turned his head completely towards him. Wanting to get up right tat second and help him but he already saw that there marks where glowing. If they got any closer they’d glow brighter. He was worried all of yesterday but made sure to take double notes in the classes he had with Jay.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay sat down painfully, and immediately buried his head in his arms. His whole body seemed tense with pain. When the teacher called his name, he flinched, lifting his head a little to peek at the teacher over his arms. When he was told to please pay attention, he nodded, then buried his head again.
