Enyln looked at him waitting for him to Finnish, "You don't what?" She asked quietly. Fear, anger, torment. It all showed in her eyes. Fear that she'd lose him. Anger that she hadn't shot his brother that night. Torment because she couldn't watch him suffer. She couldn't watch him die when she loved him so gosh darn much.

“Enyln, I don’t-“ Rigel choked on the words. He forced himself to look her in the eyes as he bit out, “I don’t think I’m going to let myself live that long.” I’m going to shoot myself as soon as you get to Paradis, as soon as you are safe. Rigel wondered if she could figure out the words he’d left unsaid.

@Dirt

"Oh. Of course." Enyln looked down. She was going to have to watch him die. Her dream flashed in her mind again. watching him die. "well…we should get moving then right? So we can get you to Paradis." She knew there was no cure, but she hopped that is place, that Paradis could have a way to help him.

“Uh, yeah,” Rigel mumbled, then forced a small smile in attempt to lighten the topic, “Meria ditched us.” He turned towards the supposed direction of Paradis, then glanced down at the gun in his hand. Rigel had one pack of ammunition in his pocket, but that was it. All his supplies had been left in the cave. Maybe we could go back… No, that’d take to much time up.

@Dirt

"Darn. Well I'm guessing we're both in pain at the moment so that sucks." Enyln laughed but quickly stopped and held her side, "yup. Pain." She said forcing a smile.

Rigel frowned, but sighed and let his shoulder sag as he muttered, “Maybe we can track her…” He started walking down the trail Meria had first stormed off down, and thankfully the ground seemed wet and the hoof prints were apparent. Lucky. They got darn lucky.

@Dirt

Enyln followed behind Rigel not wanting to get in the way. Every step bringing on more and more pain. Growing up she never really bothered with learning how to track. Instead she'd focus on her aim with a bow or gun. Now though, she regreted not bothering with the trade.

Rigel kept walking, aches increasing but he tried his best to ignore the continuous sign of the inevitable. He made it to where he’d last seen Meria, where his puke sat in wretched smelling puddles and he gagged, giving it a wide berth as he said, “That’s where I finally got Meria to stop. She couldn’t be too far.” Hopefully.

@Dirt

Enyln sighed, "lets not wast time looking for her." She knew they'd wast plenty of time looking for a horse that might already be to far away. "And let us focus on getting away from that…smell." Enyln raised her lip slightly.

Rigel nodded his agreement, keeping to the direction of Paradis. Hopefully he wouldn’t lose track of where they were going, now that the sketchbook was gone he’d have a harder time rerouting. Thankfully, Meria had gone forward, by chance. It had been a lot easier traveling on horse back.
Once Rigel and Enyln got a good distance away from the puke, he finally commented quietly, “I had been shivering and vomiting all night.”

@Dirt

"A-are you okay?" Enyln asked softly not knowing exactly what to say. She grabbed his hand to make him face her. Her eyes letting her worry etched into her every feature.

Rigel was taken aback by her concern for a second, just staring for a heartbeat before hastily answering, “I- I’m, um, fine, I guess. I just-“ I’m dying, that’s all. “I guess I’ll have to deal with the side effects now.” Rigel swallowed the lump in his throat, then looked back down at the ground. It was harder when he loved someone. It was harder to think about death.

@Dirt

Enyln felt stupid for asking such an obvious question and quickly felt slightly embarrassed too. She released his hand but didn't look away, "do you need a brake?" Her voice just barely above a whisper. "After all I can't have you collapsing suddenly." She ment it as more or a joke but was still worried about him.

Rigel smiled and let out a light laugh, which dissolved into a cough which he tried to hold in, “We should really be moving while I still can. I want to get to Paradis.” I want to get you to Paradis. Rigel smiled reassuringly at her anyways, taking her hand back and starting to walk again.

@Dirt

"Right. Yeah lets keep going." Enyln forced a smile and followed him. "How long will I take?" She asked but realized how confusing her question must of sounded, "I mean to get there."

“I’ll have to double check when the stars come out, but when I plotted it… It looked to be maybe a week… or two, or three. It’s hard to be sure,” Rigel explained, staring at the cloudy sky as if he could see the stars ahead of time. A wave of nausea came over him, and he stopped in his tracks then found himself on his hands and knees hurling up bile.

@Dirt

"Rigel!" Enyln was at his side in seconds, "a-are you okay? Do you need water? Is there anything I can do?" She was worried about him- scared he wouldn't make it to Paradis. Scared that he wouldn't make it at all.

“I- I’m fine-“ He interrupted himself as he hurled up more bile. It’s fine, I just need to get Enyln to Paradis, nothing to worry about and- Rigel hurled again, but there wasn’t anything to hurl up this time. He looked shakily at Enyln, and despite how everything about him said otherwise, he said, “I’m fine, I think.”

@Dirt

"No." Enyln shook her head, "you need to rest. I'll-I'll go find a river near by and get you some water." She didn't want to leave him but she had too. Enyln knew he was going to be dehidraded soon if not already, and that he'd need water.

Rigel didn’t have the energy to argue, he instead sat away from the bile and puke and closed his eyes, mumbling quietly, “Don’t forget about Paradis.” Just get to Paradis… Rigel couldn’t let himself die before then. He couldn’t let himself become immobile and stop like this. Just a short break…

@Dirt

Enyln reluctantly left him in search of a near by steam or something. They seemed to be near a small town so she made the short walk there and hopped it wasn't to destroyed.
Most houses and building seemed to be just barely standing. Others where completely destroyed. Finding one that was mostly in tacket Enyln went in, in search of an unopened water bottle.

Rigel was in the mist of coughing when he heard a twig snap. His head jerked up to view Vincent, not a few feet away, frowning at him, “You haven’t made much progess since I last saw you, and you had a horse. I mean honestly, brother, you can do better.”
Rigel mirrored his brother’s frown, “What do you want already? I’m dying, I thought you were satisfied.” Vincent let out a laugh, ooze flicking out of his mouth onto Rigel’s face.
“I just like to know what you’re up to, brother. I wanted to make sure you were on track for Paradis still,” Vincent replied, already turning on his heel.
“Why?” Rigel demanded, but his brother didn’t reply as he walked into the night. But something walked up in Vincent’s place. Meria. The horse approached cautiously, but something about the whole situation seemed off. Why was his brother helping him now?

@Dirt

Enyln had found a can of food and a canteen that they'd be able to use for water. when they found water that is. but the juices of the caned food would do for now.
"Hey-" Enyln stopped short at the sight of the horse being back. "When- what? How?"

“I- Um, she just walked up,” Rigel lied, staring up at the horse. It would be better not to worry her… “I guess we got really lucky, I-“ Rigel started coughing furiously again, and the sick feeling washed over him again and his guts tried to hurl themselves up yet another time.

@Dirt

"Wow. Guess you're lucky-" Enyln stopped short, "hey um drink this," she pried the lid off of the can and handed him the can.

Rigel reluctantly took the can, muttering, “I don’t feel very hungry, I think it’d be a waste.” He wrapped his arms around himself, chills starting to come over him as he stared at the canned food.

@Dirt

"You need to keep your strength up." Enyln wanted to reassure him some how, but she didn't know how. She knew how it worked. How it slowly killed you.

Rigel reluctantly ate the entire can, only coughing a little in between. He glanced at Meria when he finished, “You should probably ride in the front this time.” Because frankly, Rigel didn’t feel okay enough to be able to hold onto a horse.

@Dirt

"Right." Enyln smiled a joked slightly, "guess you'll have to hold on to my rock hard abs now."

Rigel laughed deeply, then finally forced himself to stand up despite the world spinning slightly. He leaned onto the horse, who looked slight perturbed. Rigel held one hand to Enyln and asked, “Want me to help you up?” Frankly, Rigel felt like he would be the one needing help up, but he tried to ignore the fact. Tried to pretend he wasn’t becoming a weight being dragged around.
