Jacob rolled his eyes again, walking off even faster as avrey hugged Kane tightly. "Thank you…"

" it's my job love," he said softly.

Avrey laughed and gave Kane a squeeze as he started down the path again. "So… that was my ex. I know, he was a very bad idea."

" yeah not you finest choice.."

Avrey shrugged. "I mean, he was fine at first. And then he just kept getting bossy, and then that turned into doing… things for him." He sighed. "I'm just glad I found you instead. The both of you."

Kane chuckled happily, " I'm glad you find comfort in us. I wonder what hell think when he finds out you bagged two of us at once?"

Avrey laughed. "He'd be absolutely shocked out of his mind." He quipped, holding tighter to Kane's arm as he stopped at a pond a pulled out a bag of bread

" fattening the birds?"

Avrey nodded happily, throwing some bread to a few chubby ducks that started to swim over once they saw him. "They're very spoiled."

" I can see!" He chuckled

Avrey laughed, handing some bread to Kane. "So how long have you lived here? And why did you want to be a cop?"

" 12years, and when my brother got shot.."

Avrey's expression turned white as he paused, causing the ducks to quack at him frustratingly. "I'm… really sorry about that. That must have been really hard." He said, a bit of sorrow in his eyes as he remembered things from his own past

" it's alright, it's been a while.." he said softly and continued feeding the ducks.

Avrey sighed, leaning down as a tuck came to take bread out of his hand. "You're really brave."

" me or the duck?" Kane asked with a laugh.

Avrey chuckled. "Both of you." He laughed, giving the duck the rest of the bread as he stood. "But, mostly you."

Kane shook his head " bravery is not something to be proud of."

Avrey crossed his arms as he looked down into the pond, stepping back slightly. "I'd disagree… I wish I even had an ounce of bravery."

Kane picked avrey up, " your brave enough."

Avrey shook his head as he held onto Kane. “Then you don’t know me enough.”

" I know you enough to know that your not scared to take chances "

Avren snuggled closer to Kane. "I… I guess so."

" does that mean you are brave?" He asked

Avrey looked down and didn't answer. He hated talking about himself. "I… dunno."

" yes silly it does." He chuckled and started their walk back home

Avrey smiled warmly, reaching up to give Kane a kiss as they started back

Kane nipped Avery softly, " love ya."

Avrey chuckled, snuggling into Kane's chest. "Love ya more."
