“I’m referred to as a serial killer, Kaz. I’ve killed at least ten men so far, maybe more. I decided not to keep track when I got to ten. Jut the fact that the government most likely has my mental health records is enough to want me off the streets and into some goddamn prison for the rest of my miserable life,” Vaughn mumbled, frowning heavily as he spoke.
"Well, they can kiss my ass, because you are not getting locked up in some dingy ass prison for the rest of your life," Kaz huffed. He refused to let anyone take Vaughn away from him, not now, not ever

“Don’t worry, angel. They’d have to shoot me dead before I let myself get arrested willingly,” Vaughn assured in a gentle tone. He had one or two scars from when he was shot in possibly fatal places, but he always got through it with a bit of medical attention from his foster parents.
Kaz couldn't help but laugh a little at the nickname. "I'm a demon love, not an angel. Half demon, but it still counts," he chuckled, pressing a kiss to Vaughn's cheek as he let his head rest back against the other's shoulder

“What have I told you before? You still act as precious as an angel to me, so I’m going to keep calling you that,” Vaughn hummed. He gave Kaz’s body a quick and affectionate squeeze.
"Only for you, my love," Kaz hummed, grinning as he spoke. He would admit, he acted far nicer around Vaughn than he did normally, even when he was around friends. Something about love, he supposed

“God, it’s times like this that I wish we were back at the apartment. I would be all over you by now,” Vaughn pointed out with a soft sigh. He trailed his fingertips up and down Kaz’s forearm gently, thinking as he did so.
"Mmh, I know. But as soon as we get this alien shit figured out I'll pull out a nice bottle of whiskey and we can stay up all night," Kaz hummed, small tingles trailing up his arm at Vaughn's touch

“I would kill for that right now,” Vaughn mumbled, continuing the small, light touches. He knew how sensitive of an area that was for Kaz, so he wasn’t just trying to be gentle with him.
Kaz felt another small shiver run through him as Vaughn continued the touches. "Vaughn, baby, you know my tattoos are sensitive," he hummed, though he made no move to take his arm away

“I know that. I just like them,” Vaughn said in a soft tone. As he continued, he used his other hand to bring Kaz’s hand towards his lips, kissing gently at each of his knuckles.
"Sure," Kaz drawled teasingly, smiling as Vaughn brought his hand to his lips. He loved the affection, especially since a few of his knuckles were bruised and split. It was obvious he had been fighting something while Vaughn was gone, though he never said anything about it. He hated to worry Vaughn, especially with something as insignificant as split knuckles

“Are you okay?” Vaughn thought to ask in a soft tone. He had constant bruises and scars forming on his knuckles quite often, and it didn’t bother him one bit. For some reason, though, it pained him to see the same marks on Kaz’s knuckles. He suddenly wished he was back home, where he could better provide a life for Kaz so he wouldn’t have to worry about bruised and bleeding hands.
"Of course I'm okay," Kaz said, feigning confusion even though he knew exactly what Vaughn was asking about. He didn't think the marks on his knuckles were a big deal, especially considering the fact that he had only gotten them in another bar fight. Some of the scarring had been renewed by the job he had been helping Erik on, but it was otherwise fine

“You didn’t have these the last time that I saw you. These are fresh,” Vaughn pressed, lowering Kaz’s hand away from his lips. He picked up Kaz’s other hand, checking that one for any bruising or cuts.
There were cuts on Kaz's other hand as well, one particularly long one that resembled a scratch that stretched from just below his ring finger up to just below his first tattooed band. "I know, I know. But they're nothing serious babe," he assured him

“What about this? What happened here?” Vaughn further questioned, seemingly ignoring when Kaz most likely tried to drop it. He tended to get so much more protective and easily concerned when he truly cared about someone. He motioned to the long cut as he spoke, though he didn’t touch it.
“Just got attacked by a tree, babe,” Kaz chuckled. He had gotten it when he was running from a wendigo a few days prior, when he had tripped up and smacked his hand into a dead tree. It wasn’t serious, so he hadn’t bothered trying to bandage it or anything

Vaughn gave a humming noise as he frowned at Kaz’s hand. “But you’re okay?” He asked, knowing well that Kaz had already said he was fine. He always thought that if he kept asking, maybe he would get a different answer.
"Yes, love, I'm totally okay," Kaz assured him with a smile, leaning forward to peck Vaughn's nose reassuringly. "It's just a few scratches, really. Stuff like this happens all the time to me, and it's not like I got stabbed in the stomach or something."

“Better not get stabbed in the stomach,” Vaughn grumbled, arms now wrapping around Kaz in an affectionate and protective manner. He pressed a kiss to the top of Kaz’s head, not even wanting to think about what would happen if he lost Kaz.
"Well, it has been a long time since I was last stabbed, and that was when I fell on a couple empty beer bottles," Kaz chuckled. It actually wasn't the last time he had been stabbed, he just didn't want to tell Vaughn something that might worry him like that

“You need to be more careful. If you aren’t, I’ll just have to move in with you,” Vaughn murmured. He would be open to that idea, but he never fully moved in. He yawned softly, smiling down at Kaz.

“I might just have to get in more trouble so you do move in,” Kaz chuckled. A soft, dorky smile spread across his face as Vaughn yawned. If there was one adorable thing in this world, it was Vaughn yawning

“We can plan for that once we are done with what is going on here. I don’t know how much longer it’s going to be. We have to get all these stones and stop a secret society led by Dylan’s dad. This is going to take a while,” Vaughn sighed, playing with Kaz’s curls.
"You know, the more we talk about the stones and stuff, the more this sounds like we're all inside some crackhead's alley dream," Kaz laughed, smiling as he let his head fall against Vaughn's shoulder again

Vaughn laughed a bit, looking down at Kaz now. “I definitely feel like I’m drugged up half of the time. Veronica picked me up this new medication, and god does it do complete wonders for my anxiety.”
"Well hook me up with some of that," Kaz laughed. "You have no idea how difficult getting meds is when you're legally dead. Cas has to go into the therapist every week and pretend to have all my issues just to get my meds."

“I have some in a duffel bag back in the truck,” Vaughn hummed, smiling as he did so. He moved a hand to gently rub at Kaz’s shoulders, knowing that he was often sore there.
