"No… n-no I'm fine…" Maddox tried to walk, but his legs felt like jelly. He would have fallen had he not grabbed onto Josh's arm to steady himself again.

"At least lean on me then, I'll help,"

"Mhmm…" Maddox could hardly walk, and he couldn't help but feel that he was just majorly slowing down the process. Being carried would be faster, but I would never want to make Josh do that…

Josh gave up a few steps in and grabbed Maddox's legs carrying him to the house. He set him down just inside the door. "That was easier, wasn't it?"

Maddox was a bit flustered from suddenly being picked up, standing frozen for a few moments before hobbling over to the couch and collapsing on it. (Do they live together?)

Maddox was a bit flustered from suddenly being picked up, standing frozen for a few moments before hobbling over to the couch and collapsing on it. (Do they live together?)

Josh walked up to his calendar hanging in the kitchen of their very small, baren home. He sued a red marker to mark the calendar. He sighed. Only using red when something bad happened.

"W-What're you writing…?" Maddox's voice was muffled, but still audible from the couch.

"Just marking the calendar," He said disappointedly as he looked further up in the month, the red marks were getting closer together. He was losing control more than learning to use it.

"You just gonna sleep on the couch?"

"Sure… don't see why not." He yawned a bit. "Also, I… might've just frozen a pillow. J-Just maybe…"

Josh laughed, "It'll melt… probably."

Maddox groaned into the now frozen pillow. "Sorry 'bout that…"

"It's fine, you should see all the pillows I've ripped apart in my sleep."

"Mmmm… Hey… um, J-Josh?" He looked up from the pillow.

"Yes Maddox?" Josh sat down on the floor opening a beer bottle with his bare hands.

"What if… w-what if I froze you, by accident? Some… outburst, I suppose… t-that ended up going horribly wrong…?"

"I dunno Maddox," He took a swig of the beer, "What if I threw a fire fall at you or ripped you to shreds in a similar incident?"

"We just have to be careful I guess seeing as how you won't let me leave."

"I just… I-I don't want to lose you, Josh…" Tears pricked at Maddox's eyes, and he quickly brushed them away. Don't let him see you cry… you're weak… "I don't know what my powers do to living things… a-and I… I don't know what I'd do without you…"

Josh sighed, "You won't lose me, buddy," He offered Maddox a beer.

What's this? Maddox looked at the bottle curiously before drinking some of it. He didn't taste anything until he had drank about three quarters of the bottle, at which point he almost spit it out.

Josh laughed loudly, "You never had beer before?"

"Er, no… what's the weird aftertaste?" He gingerly set the bottle down on the side table, shying away from it.

"Alcohol!"

"Alcohol? Is… is it dangerous?"

"Not unless you have a lot,"

"…Is this a lot?" He held up the nearly empty bottle.
(I mean, probs not for someone who drinks often but he's literally never had alcohol in his life, so…. we might have some fun)
