Vixen walked down the hallway, not speaking to either Haymitch or the other District 12 tribute. His name was Brandon, or something like that. He wouldn't survive long, she knew that much. He was weak, and a fool. Not the key things to let you live long in the games. Finally, they had made it to the training room. A few other tributes were there, but she didn't give them much of her attention. She absentmindedly played with the end of her long red braid as she looked around, wondering how many of these people she'd have to slaughter.

@Poppy

Fawn sneaked in a picture of her cat, Honey. She kept it in her back pocket, hidden from the guards. She looked around at the faces of the others, the raging looks in their eyes. She made notes on their strengths and weaknesses. She finally arrived at the knives, picking one up and twirling it in her hand. She threw and miss the target, hearing snickers from others. But she picked up another.

Vixen's eyes landed on a girl, obviously younger than the rest of the people here. Before she knew what she was doing, her boots softly padded on the ground until she was standing by the girl. "Keep your wrist straighter, and don't tense as much. Relax," she quietly said to her. She picked up a knife of her own, and chucked it at the target. It landed next to the center.

@Poppy

Fawn stared at the girl next to her, seeing if the help was just an act. Act or not, she needed it. She straightened her wrist, and let out a breath with the throw of the knife. It hit the edge of the target and Fawn winced. The target was designed to look like a body. And Fawn saw into her future at the games.

"Better," she whispered. She could see why the girl didn't want to hit the target, the innocence in her eyes. "I hate it too, but if you're going to survive, you have to." She gently put her hand on the girls shoulder for a second, offering the little comfort she could give, before going to a station next to the knives and picking up a bow. She had already lost two brothers and a sister to the games, she wouldn't allow anymore innocent blood to be spilled for entertainment. She pulled back the string.Revenge. The word echoed in her mind. Feeling the trainers eyes on her back, she released the arrow. It buried itself where the heart would be on the dummy.

((Oh yeah, of course! I don't mind!))

@Poppy

(@Smol_Snake Maddox and Fawn seem like they would be good friends)

@Poppy

Fawn pulled out the picture of Honey, staring in the eyes of her kitten. She told her brother very specific rules on how to take care of her but she knows it will never be the same. A tear streamed down her face but she wiped it away before anyone could see. She folded up the paper and threw the knives, each inching closer and closer to the target.

After she had run out of arrows, Vixen stalked over to the dummy and ripped them out. She could feel the trainers eyes on her, tracking her every move. They scribbled some notes on their clipboards, undoubtedly notes about her fighting style for the sponsers. Well, at least she would have her name mentioned to the sponsers. She placed the bow back on the rack and walked over to where a punching bag was hanging. She took a breath, burying all her emotions, before begining to practice.

Fawn watched Wyatt, the boy from her district. He threatened her the day before, when she was walking up to the podium, stunned her name was drawn. He said he hoped someone cut her, slice after slice, and left her to bleed out, until her body was completely drained of blood. He wanted them to prop her up so she could watch them kill more people the same way. A chill went down her spine, since now he could fulfill his threat. He saw her watching him and picked up an axe. He struck the dummy and she jumped in her skin. She turned away towards the girl from before. She was pulling arrows out of the target, each in the center of the dummy. Fawn got up and walked towards the camouflage station, taking a deep breath before reaching for the mud.

@Fraust

Maddox stood nervously in the room, holding his bow with trembling hands. He knew that he would likely be one of the first to die; there was no way he could kill someone in cold blood like that. Nonetheless, he raised the bow shakily and shot at the target. Just the fact that it was shaped like a person made him nervous, and he missed completely. He closed his eyes, drawing in a wavering breath. Come on… you have no choice! There's no way out, you know that… He docked another arrow onto his bow, struggling to focus.

@Poppy

Fawn saw a boy around her age, shaking as he shot arrow after arrow. She looked down at her leg, which she had blended in to the dirt below. A trainer walked by studying her work, and she sat there nervously, praying a sponsor would notice her. "Finish up." A voice rang throughout the training arena. She knew the interviews came next and she chose this as her chance to impress the Capitol.

@Fraust

Maddox almost dropped his bow. Well, guess this is it… do I get a chance to say goodbye to my family? Write a will? Not that I have anything to will to them, but as I'm clearly going to die soon… He sighed, putting the bow back onto his back. No training he could get would really help him any more. Perhaps I could just hide? Then I wouldn't have to kill anyone, right?

Magdalena’s hands moved quicker as she glanced across the board. Nightlock - poison. Belladonna - poison. Blackberries - safe. A voice echoed through the room, telling everyone to finish up. She exhaled and hit another button.

@Fraust

What else do I need? Um… Maddox thought, wondering what weapons he had access to. I've got a dagger, but I doubt it'll do me much good… He was anxious, terrified, and very clearly so. He started pacing the room, just wanting to cry, scream, anything! But he remained almost silent, his breathing growing quicker and more shallow. This is a nightmare… but I can't just wake up from this one in the morning…

The screen flashed black before displaying the words, “Seven minutes and 23 seconds. 100%”.
She could barely remember if that was better than the last six times she’d taken the quiz. “In the arena, your plant knowledge will be your greatest strength. Perfect it,” her father had hissed in her ear before she left. Like I couldn’t hold my own in a fight, She thought bitterly, moving on to the sparring field.

@Fraust

"I can't breathe… I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die…" Maddox whispered rapidly to himself as he made his way to the field. His head was spinning, his heart racing, and fear churned in his chest and stomach. It felt as though his throat had closed up, which made taking a full breath incredibly difficult. Tears stung his eyes as he looked back in the direction that he knew led to home, knowing that he would never return to it.

Magdalena glanced at someone else who was also walking over, eyes widening as she noticed how pale and unsteady he looked. Don’t make friends. Play off of other’s weaknesses, her father’s voice echoed in her mind. She ignored it. It’s a stupid win if I win against someone about to collapse onto the ground. “Are you Alright?” She asked Maddox stiffly, walking a little closer.

@Fraust

Maddox looked up at the girl. "Er… I'm… I-I'm fine…" He lied at first, but quickly spoke again. "Oh, who am I kidding! I'm terrified! I won't last five minutes in this thing!" He fidgeted with his hands nervously. Why can't it just start so I don't have to worry so much? I can just stand in the open and wait for someone to kill me!

“Ways to make your death quick and easy - let yourself die in the bloodbath. Step off the plate before the timer stops. Only if you want to give up so easy, anyways,” she said. One less opponent? Play off emotional weakness? I don’t know.

@Fraust

Great, now I'm getting tips on how to die. "S-Step off the plate? What… what does that mean? What's the plate?" I really should've done more research on the stupid Hunger Games… it's barbaric! And what is even the point of it? If you die, you're weak and you let down your district. If you win, you come back a murderer.

“The plate at the beginning. There’s a minute count off. Didn’t you watch the Games before?” She asked. “If you step off before the minute it blows you up.”

@Fraust

Maddox's eyes widened and his heart seemed to stop. "No… I-I never wanted to watch them…" I suppose it is a quick way to die, and I wouldn't have to kill anyone… but I should at least try to survive, at least for a little while. right?
(That awkward moment when someone's telling you the best ways to die)
