Vilmaris stared at thw water surrounding the city. Her eyes drifted through it, looking at each fish, plant and life form in there. She sighed and stood up, grabbing her sword from the rock she had been sitting on and heading in the direction of the palace. (Princess?) Ariema was speaking soon, and she couldn't miss it.

Ariema went over her speech once more. Citizens of Atlantis. Our people have survived thousands of years here in our kingdom. We lived through famine, war, and even the sinking of our land. I know that we are a powerful people. I know we can defeat whatever comes our way. She paused her thoughts, looking down at her necklace. For years, humans have been trying to find us. We have reason to believe that they…that they… Ariema sighed, reading the writing on the back of her hand. …that they are closer than ever to discovering Atlantis.
Lazuli made her way to the palace, wondering what Ariema was going to say.
Vilmaris walked closer to the palace, trying not to let her reluctance slow her down. She knew what this would be about. The humans. She had once heard someone say that their anscestors were human once, but she knew that they would not listen to that. They would kill her people, destroy her culture, and get away with it too. They could not come to Atlantis.

One of the palace guards came up to Ariema. "It's time for your speech." He stated simply. Ariema nodded, trying to hide her fear as she followed him outside to the front steps of the palace. A large crowd had gathered, but Ariema knew that not everyone was here. That makes things a little easier.
(What physical differences are there between Humans and Atlantians? Just curious.)
Lazuli craned her neck, catching glimpse of Ariema.

Carmen closed her book, annoyed with the rowdy teenagers that had just entered the library. She picked up her messenger bag and headed out to the beach, where she knew she could find some peace in quiet. Carmen had found one spot when she was younger that was always deserted, but was still a great place to read a book. The waves crashed on the rocks, and Carmen would be sitting atop a not-so-high cliff, overlooking the sea.
Always being interested in sea life, she gazed at the ocean, wondering of the possibities that could lay at the floor, waiting to be discovered. What if mermaids existed? What if there was a whole city underneath the waves?
(So I'll just wait for another human or something lol)
