The Paperback Theater

Michael woke up with a jolt. To his surprise, there was no one there. "God dang it!" He took out his phone to call Asura

Asura jumped when his phone rang. Glancing over, he saw that it was Mike. "Make sure there aren't any cops around," he told the passengers as he reached over to pick up the phone. "What do you want, Michael?"

Charlie kept her head looking out the window, even though her instincts were yelling at her that it wasn't a good idea to help Asura with a slightly illegal activity.

"Dude, did you guys leave me or something?! I could have sat in the back of the van or something, not cool!" He grumbled while he walked outside

He started laughing. "Honestly, I totally forgot you were there. Hold on, I'm coming to pick you up," he said, doing a sharp u-turn that slightly tilted the van.

"Ok thanks." He hung up and started to fiddle with his necklace. He wasn't that hard to forget, was he?

Charlie grabbed at any handhold so she could stop herself from falling onto the other passengers. She softly grunted at the effort and sighed in relief when the turn was complete.

He stepped on the gas so they sped a little, then did another sharp turn into the parking lot of the school, where he found Michael waiting.

Michael kept himself from flipping Asura off before waiting for the van to stop. When it did he opened the back doors and slid in. "Thanks for turning around at least."

"No problem," he said, then turned around to face Cam. "Sorry, I'm a crazy driver," he said, exiting the parking lot and making his way to the pizza place again.

"Y-yeah" Charlie would not stop clinging to her seat in case of another unexpected turn or swerve.

Michael laughed. "Dude, you think this van is bad? Try some of the cars that come through my aunt's garage. I swear some of them got chucked off the cliffs or something."

"This isn't even that bad, it just has… personality."

"Ha. Yeah…" Charlie avoided eye contact with anyone at the mention of family and just stayed out of it.

"Yeah I haven't bothered with a car yet. My aunt said she'd give me a fixer-upper when I go to college, but right now I just use my skateboard."

"That sucks. Do you want a car? I've got a few that I don't drive, and they're much nicer than this," he offered, parking his van at the pizza place. "Although, you'd owe me big time because my parents would kill me if I just gave my mustang away."

"I like it more!" He argued, turning the car off and hopping out.

Michael unbuckled and opened the van's back door. "Yeah dude, he's got a bunch of nice cars."

Charlie shakily exited the car and tried calming herself with deep breaths and forcing herself to laugh at Asura and Michael's banter.

As Michael hopped out, he saw the sign for the pizza place. "We're getting pizza? Awesome."

"If you teach me how to sing, I'll give you one for free," he said, walking up to the pizza place. "And yeah, we're getting pizza. I'll pay so don't worry about it."

(Rest in peace my dude) "You sure man? I've got a 20 here somewhere."

"Yeah, but I've got a lot of money and I feel like it would be a dick move if I didn't use it to pay for your food," he said, holding the door open for Michael.

"Ok, suit yourself." Michael walked through the door and immediately started to drool from the smell of pizza. He hadn't even noticed he was hungry (oh I might have to go because of CPR so yeah)
