Sia idly tapped her fingers on the table. 'Anything else I can do for you Gij?"

"No, thanks for asking." Gij hung his head.

"Okay." Sia relaxed, inhaling the still lingering scent of sage.

Gij rubbed his face and felt tears. What…?

""You okay?" Sia asked.

"Mhm…" I sound so pathetic… have I always sounded like this? He sniffled gently.

Sia put an arm around him cautiously, not sure how he'd react. "Hey," She murmured gently. "It's okay."

"I'm alright. It's okay…" He inhaled deeply and wiped his tears away.

Sia nodded. "It's okay to cry. Better to let it all out." She murmured.

"No… it's stupid. I'm sorry." He sniffled again and inhaled.

"Don't be sorry. It's not stupid. It's the natural way of relieving one's self over overwhelming feels." She was now slightly hugging him.

Gij looked at her. "No… I mean… I cry all the time… It's stupid to cry in front of you." He looked away.

"It's not stupid." She insisted. "It's fine Gij. Trust me."

"No, it is… I'm fine, I promise."

Sia decided to let it go. "Okay. You sure?"

"Yeah. I get over it really fast." He lied deftly; he's said it often enough.

"Okay." She looked up at the clock. 11:15. "I should probably get started on lunch."

Gij nodded. "Alright."

"You sure nothing tickles your fancy?" She asked.

"No, nothing much. I'm not really hungry."

"Okay." She realized she still had her arms around him and quickly withdrew them, standing up. "I'll go see what I have." She said.

"Alright." He shivered a little; he felt cold and lonely again.

Sia fished through her fridge and pulled a couple of tupperware bowls. "I've got left over lasagna if you're interested."

"No, not hungry. Thanks, though."

"Okay. It's in here if you want it." She said, putting one of the bowls back into the fridge and placing the other in the microwave.

"Alright. Thanks."

"Anytime." Sia said, pressing the buttons on the microwave.

Sobex purred quietly and nudged Gij's hand, his stripes still a royal shade of blue.

Sia idly tapped her foot as she waited for the microwave.

Sobex yapped gently again and Gij shook his head.
