Gij hugged himself tighter. "I'll be okay. Don't worry."

Sia nodded, putting an arm around him. "Yes, you will. But one needs to let things see the light in order heal."

"I know what's wrong. If you're referring to yourself, you… wouldn't care. It's just empty words to try and make me feel better."

Sia shook her head. "Gij, I haven't known you very long, but I do care."

"People have said the same and left me." He looked away from her, and Sobex growled faintly.

Sia nodded. "I understand. You don't have to tell me anything, but I do care Gij."

Gij shook his head. "It's not so bad that you needed to call off. I bet you could still make it." He peered at the clock at the edge of his vision.

"No. I'm staying." Sia insisted gently, but firmly.

"You can go! I'll be fine, I promise." Gij slowly felt like he was disconnecting from himself… it resulted in slight firmness in his voice…

Sia sighed. "No. You're not. I'm staying, and that is that." She folded her arms.

"Why?" Gij asked distantly; why he'd asked it he had no clue… as if he cared of her answer… all he cared about was this pleasant darkness. He zoned out facing the linen kitchen backdrop.

"Because that's what I decided. That's why."

"Mmalright…" Gij felt totally disconnected now. So… so nice…

Sia snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Hey. Stay with me."

"Hmm? Oh, hey." He looked at her. "What were we talkin' about?"

Sia managed not to sigh. "The fact that you say you're fine but you aren't."

"Oh, yeah. I'm… fine…" He looked away from her again.

"Mhm. Right." She stood up and pulled out a tea bag. "I think some Turmeric tea is order." She said.

Tea… hm… tea… Gij felt himself floating away again.

"Sobex, make sure his mind stays here." She said, heating up a cup of water.
