(Good. I have to paint later, though, so I won't be on much, if at all.)

(How're you, Sly?
Also, you wanna toss our hunter in here?)

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

(Oh my gosh… These two…)

Rose nodded at Jameson before turning and looking away, attempting to hide the dusting of red that had decided to grace her cheeks. Ugh. She'd probably had a crush on the prince since they were little, and it didn't help that both of their parents assumed that they would one day marry and thereby gain an alliance.

King Broden glanced between the two, a faint smile crossing his lightly-bearded face as he noticed the blushes coating both of the young royals' faces. He cleared his throat to draw their attention.

"Well, Jameson, why don't you sit down and help us for a bit?" he suggested slyly.

“Thank you for the invitation, sir, but I’d better get go- oh.” James noticed the look the King gave him and sighed. This’ll be interesting. Also, aren’t dragons more important than some eventual marriage treaty? “Of course, sir.”

"Good. Take a seat," the king directed before turning to the hunter. "Now, Gerard, what do you think would be the best way to go about this?"

Rose sat silently, feeling as if she knew what her father was up to.

Just because you have hopes that I will one day marry this prince, doesn't mean I will. Even if I do like him.

James sat awkwardly at the table, poised to be ready to run at a moment’s notice. He nodded at one of his nearby guards, who immediately rushed off, giving James’s other soldiers the order to protect the city without him.

I swear, this meeting better be good, because I now seem like a cowardly child in front of my best men.

Gerard cleared his throat. "I think evacuating to the fortress outside of the city would be wise, sir."

King Broden thought for a moment, rubbing his beard with his hand. "Yes, that seems like a good idea. Now, how should we deal with the dragons? Does anyone have any ideas?"

"We could try to reason with them," Rose muttered softly under her breath. It wasn't like he'd listen to her, but she felt the need to say it, anyway. "After all, they are intelligent creatures."

Gerard glanced at her, raising an eyebrow. "And who do you think would be doing this reasoning?"

Rose started, thinking no one had heard her. She looked out the window to think before answering.

"I could do it. We all know how persuasive I can be, don't we? Plus, dragons like maidens, right?" she said with a small shrug.

"Absolutely not," the king denied her suggestion, shaking his head.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

James looked stricken. “That’s- no offense, Your Highness- ridiculous,” he argued. “There’s no way. In that situation, the best case scenario is that the dragons listen to you but… but… take you as collateral. It’s… it’s not happening.” He leaned forwards in his chair, murmuring, “I won’t let it.” He added, to the King, “Pardon my interruption, sir.”

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

//wow that was a long and terrible paragraph

(No, it was great! I love it.)

"You're fine, Jameson. I agree, in fact," the king declared, shooting his daughter a look.

Rose was glaring at the prince, and she huffed out a breath. "Just because I'm a girl, you think I can't do it?" She stood and crossed her arms over her chest, stepping back from the table to pace back and forth.
