"As well as one with insomnia can!" Harper said, shrugging as he set his bag down on the table near him, it was the one he usually sat at. "What about you?"
Xiang smiles. "You know me. Like a baby." He chuckles softly before sitting across from him. But if you looked closer you could see the beginnings of dark circles under his eyes.
Harper raised an eyebrow, noticing the under-eye bags. "Are you sure? Darlin', you have circles under your eyes."
Xiang hums. "I'm alright." he smiles warmly and ties his hair back. "I stayed up for a little to take care of taxes and what not." He smiles a little.
"You know if you need help with that, I have a few people I could talk too. I have a friend who's got a degree in taxes." (I don't know what it's called.)
Xiang smiles a little. "The kind of you love. I'd appreciate it. You've done so much for me already…" he places a gentle hand on Harper's. "Thank you, love." he glances at his watch and opens the doors to the cafe. N
"It's fine, I can pull some strings!" Harper exclaimed, as far as Xiang knew, Harper was a heir to a wealthy company.
Melanie, upon waking up and stretching, considers sleeping in before the Cafe came to her mind. She quickly checked the time, and jolted upright, rushing to get herself organized. She got dressed, took a quick shower, brushed her hair and teeth, fed her dog, and before she knew it, she was out the door, running around the corner to the Cafe.
"Hi-I'm here-on time!" She huffed when she entered, a smile that was both nervous and shy on her face.
“Morning Melanie!” Elliot calls out to the girl from their spot at the counter.
Xiang smiles and nods in thanks before walking behind the counter as customers filled in slowly.
"Hiya Mel!" Harper waved, pulling out his laptop and a few packets of papers.
"Hi. Anything to do today?"Melanie slowed her breathing and she was no longer huffing, turning to Xiang.
Xiang looks up and beams. "Hello Melanie. You ready to get started?" he asks happily as he greets her warmly. "This way please."
"Yeah. Where to?" Melanie seemed more chipper than the day before.
He smiles. "You'll help me with the pastry baking. Does that sound okay? Well shift you through jobs the first week and see which one works for you best."
"Alright, but I'm okay with doing anything, really." Melanie smiled shyly, walking in the direction of the kitchen.
Xiang smiles at her, showing her the roles, how things worked, where the recipes were, along with letting her try some of the treats to show her what they tasted like.

"Thanks, I think I'm good now. I really appreciate you hiring me, even if you don't know what I can really do." Melanie smiled faintly, not liking the fact that she was almost always socially awkward.
Xiang chuckles. "Not to worry, love. It's my pleasure." he gives her a faint smile before leaving her to do her thing. "if you have any questions, just ask." he calls.

Tyler walks into the cafe, face clear of makeup for once. "Hey Xiang, normal black coffee today, please." Elise woofs. "Oh, and a treat for the lady, please." ((sorry im in school))
Melanie starts working, doing an okay job at making pastries. Thankfully, she doesn't cause any chaos, but she could do better. Realizing this, Melanie studied the recipes and followed them exactly, sometimes rushing a little.
“Hey Tyler!” Elliot called out cheerfully to him. “Hi Elise!” They bent down to pet the dog.
Xiang looks up, "Hey there Tyler. Hello Elise." he chuckles lightly, getting them what they needed.
