Melanie sighed. More people? Oh, well. As long as I can keep Tristan safe, I don't care if the entire town goes or not.

Tristan smiled at the newcomer, "Hello!"

"I'm not here to make friends, I'm just here to leave this shitty town," Sam said briskly, adjusting their jacket. "Samine Samudrala."

Tristan stuck his hand out "Well it's nice to meet you Samine, I'm Tristan!"

"It seems we have relatively the same motive. Congrats on realizing that this really is a shitty town. I'm Melanie. Mel for short. Don't get on my bad side. And don't even think of hurting Tristan here" Melanie was serious, but glad that someone was as (I don't know how to put this otherwise) badass as her, maybe more.

"Can we just hurry and go," Mallory said nervously.

Finn watch the exchange, a bit nervous as well. He ran a hand through his hair impatiently.

Tristan stuck his hand out "Well it's nice to meet you Samine, I'm Tristan!"

Sam shook it gingerly then pulled away. "Well, can we get started?"

"Yes shall we," Mallory gestured at the gate

"Thank god, finally. Thought we'd just be standing around doing nothing." Melanie rolled her eyes, a common thing she did.

Charles shrugged, "Then lets go!"

Finn shouldered his bag, a mixture of excitement and fear swimming in his gaze. “Ready for adventure, Trouble?”

Mallory began feeling a wave of relief. We're finally leaving

"Heck yeah!" Tristan cheered.

Finn smiled widely, ruffling Trouble’s hair. “Adventure!” He cheered, letting out a loud whoop of joy.

Melanie only rolled her eyes, but no one could deny that there was a smile on her usually frowning face as she observed Finn and Tristan interacting.

Mallory felt warm inside at the affection but didn't show it externally

"Lets go!!" Tristan said bounding up to Charles.

Charles smiled. "Lead the way little one," he gestured to the gate

Melanie sighed as she walked towards the gate. She honestly didn't know who or what to expect, but it was better than the place she was living in, she was sure of it. Her backpack bounced as she walked, a slight pep in her step that could easily be seen as her stomping.

Mallory's grip on her bags loosened the closer she got to the gate.

Tristan raced forward and darted through the gate.

Finn broke into a run after him, surprisingly fast despite the guitar strapped to his back.

"This shall be interesting looking at the group of people I gathered." Charles said waving his arms at the group

"I hope that means well," Melanie said, unintentionally harshly, "I would be upset if this trip was meaningless…"
