The Watergirl and her Fireboy (One on one)

"Okay" Slang quieted down and let himself be pulled along

They dropped down into the boiler room. Newt turned to Slang. "Where's the poison?"

Watergirl had heard them speaking about the boiler room, so she figured going there would be her best bet. Quickly, she sent a brief call to Fireboy, then headed off.

"right here" Some green liquid is released out of a small pocket of scales on Slangs wrist

Watergirl stood outside the boiler room door, listening carefully.

Newt smiles, opening the main hot air tank of the building. He throws the poison in, then shuts the door immediately. "We'd better scram before the gas gets you, too."

"Lets go nerd" Slang says and runs out of the room.

Watergirl burst into the boiler room. She saw them and stormed over. "What are you doing here?"

Watergirl blinked, confused. Her feet start to tingle, then it spreads: up her legs and throughout her chest. Her throat closed and she couldn't breathe. "Help!" she wheezed.

Newt smirks at her, hiding his face as he runs past. Watergirl couldn't give him a bruise in his astral form, and he intended to get back home before she had the chance to try.

Fireboy rushed towards the signal of the call. He flew in right as they were trying to rush off. He held his hand up and lit on fire. "Where do you think you're going?"

Watergirl looked up. "Fireboy…" her lips managed.

Slang wrinkles his nose, his identity hidden by a mask of scales "I dont like you" He said running past Fireboy.

Newt rolled his eyes and walked right through the fire. Then he froze. Slang. He ran back through the fire and grabbed his partner's arm. "Away."

(Newt can't get hurt by fire in astral form but Slang can)

"Fine" Slang huffs "Can we go to base? theres good food" he asks

"Fireboy…" Watergirl pleaded as her lips began to tingle.

"Base? Heck. My house. That Fireboy's drooling over his Watergirl, he won't follow us." Newt pulled Slang in the opposite direction.

"True" he says and lets Newt pull him along "That was boring, i dont like them"

"Me neither," Newt grumbled. "Say, where did Katie go?"

"i dunno, i dont like her either" he grumbles

"She's a creepy gal, that's for sure." The school doors slam behind them.

Watergirl's body fell limp and numb to the ground. "Fireb-"

"Ugh!" He let them get away as he rushed to her side. "Hey, I'm here." He smelled the difference immediately. Poison. He picked her up and carried her out bridal style. He came across a school police officer and told him to evacuate the school. He continued to hurry to get Watergirl out. "Just hold on for me there." He slammed out the front door getting her to fresh air.

Newt's body stirred as his astral form went back into his physical one. He shrugged off his trenchcoat and mask, sagging onto the couch.

Watergirl began to breathe in the fresh air. "Fireboy," she murmured.

He looked down to her, seeing her awake. "Thank goodness." He sighed. They were in a patch of grass in the front of the school. "Stay here." He set her sitting down against a tree and then ran back in the building as kids came rushing out. He needed to help evacuate.

"I hope she dies from the gas." Newt muttered, talking about the paralyzed Watergirl. "Katie and Fireboy too."

"Meh, no one will die fast. there's extreme pain then death." he says
