“ kinda, he's pretty sick. I don't honestly know how to ease his discomfort. I tried Advil but I can't break the fever.” he explained the situation
“ there's nothing left to say now.”
"He's sick? Um… he doesn't get sick a ton, honestly. If it's something minor, just try your best to keep him hydrated and comfortable. If it gets worse, try to convince him to let you take him to the doctor."
“ Okay, thank you,” he said softly, the worry in his voice was clear. “ bye,” he said and hung up. Cyrus filled a cup full of water and went to give it to corbin.
"Bye." Corbin didn't look up when Cyrus came into the room. He was just curled up on the bed, his wings laying limp behind him.
“ cori, I seriously think you should see the doctor..” he said softly
"Nooo… I don't want to… I'm fine." Corbin insisted, keeping his eyes closed.
“ Corbin please” he said with a whiny voice.
Corbin shook his head a bit. "S'just a fever… stomach bug or somethin', probably…"
Cyrus sighed “ if this gets worse I'm taking you cori.” he said sternly and kissed corbins forehead. He went out in the living room and played his violin
"You can't force me…" He mumbled in reply. "I'm an adult, so…" Corbin coughed weakly and curled up tighter, wrapping his wings around himself.
Cyrus sighed, all he had to do was pick corbin up and take him of it got worse.
Corbin was shivering a bit, so he buried himself further into the warmth of his bed. He just wanted to lay there and do nothing all day, but he still needed to call into work.
Cyrus waited about an hour before going in to check corbins temperature. “ what's your bosses number,” he asked softly as he put the thermometer to corbins forehead.
"Mmmnh…" Corbin reluctantly lifted his head so Cyrus could take his temperature while he told him the number. "Just say m'sick…" He mumbled. "I dunno…"
Cyrus watched the thermometer. “ cori your going. It's on 100 degrees, “ he said and went out of the room. He called both the doctor and the boss, explaining what was going on and going back to corbin. “you're going to hate me..” he said softly and picked corbin up, keep in a blanket wrapped around him.
"I don't need to go to the doctor for a stupid fever… I'm not a baby…" Corbin shuddered when Cyrus picked him up, shivering in his arms. He drew his wings around himself to preserve some warmth. He burrowed into the blanket, whining in protest. "C-Can't afford that kinda thing anyway…"
“ I can, corbin. “ he said with a bit of a tude “ if your fever rises any higher it could be extremely dangerous. Plus the docs a good friend of mine”
Corbin huffed, closing his eyes and curling up tighter. "S'dumb… I don't wanna go. It's probably nothing anyway…"
Cyrus ignored him for the moment and walked outside, he decided that flying would be quicker. He took off in a quick succession and kept steady all the way to the hospital
Corbin was quiet, knowing that his complaints were falling on deaf ears. He simply kept his eyes closed and stayed in his tight, warm ball. He only looked up again once they had landed. "We don't need to go to a hospital. They've got more important people to deal with."
“you're just as important and this is where the doc said to go. He could treat you best here “ he said and walked in.
Corbin sighed in exasperation. "This is gonna be a lot of unnecessary expenses, Cyrus… it's a waste of time and money. I'll get better if I just rest at home a while."
“ I'm not taking the chance of your fever spiking corbin.” he said and sat him down in one of the rooms that the nurse had showed them.
Corbin crossed his arms and looked away, clearly annoyed. "I still don't think we should be here. I'm an adult and I shouldn't be forced to go to the hospital for a little fever."
“ it's not little. “ cyrus said getting impatient
"That's not really up to you." Corbin huddled up on the cot, keeping silent until the doctor came in.
Cyrus waited for the doc to come in, when he did Cyrus got up and left. Going outside, he decided to lean against the wall and take in a few shaky breaths. He hated hospitals, his mother died in a hospital. Being in one just brought back all the memories, feelings. Every bit of coldness ran down his spine, he was fighting the urge to cry.
Corbin glanced up when the doctor came in, but then returned his stubborn gaze to the wall. "I don't know why he brought me here. I told him not to. I've just got a fever; it's not that big a deal, honestly. I guess just check me to ease his mind or whatever."
The doctor gave a kind smile, sad but still kind. “ Cyrus is scared to lose someone else he loves. His mother.. She died here, and every day on his birthday he's gone to see her. Mark me if I'm wrong but I believe today is his birthday. It must really be getting to him.” he said softly as he did a usual checkup on corbin. “ you have a high fever, over-the-counter medication should break it in a few hours. Thankfully this isn't contagious, just your body's inflammation process. “
Corbin sighed softly. "Yeah, today's his birthday… I just don't know why he would bring me here for something so minor if it's so upsetting to him to be here. We could've just stayed home together and it would've been fine." He curled up on the cot, shivering at the cold in the hospital.
