“Oh, yeah?” Lou said, looking up at the sky and giving a silent giggle of sorts. “What would you rather be doing?”

Lou smiled, blushing and turning back around to hide it. “Is that so? If, then yes, you’re right. This time is quite… judgy.”
He glanced over, his eyes twinkling happily as he looked over the man’s hat. “But, frankly— I quite enjoy them, too.”

“And, luckily,” Lou said, pausing as they got to the railing of a canal. He rested his hands over it, looking at the moon glistening on the calm yet ominous water.
“Luckily, we have all the time in the world.”

“What’s a month when you travel through time?” Lou asked. “You know how this works, don’t you?”
He seemed confident, but he couldn’t help but think Jay wanted to go back. He couldn’t help but think Jay didn’t want a solution.

“Alright, then,” Lou said. “Well, if that’s the case, we’ll just have to make it count, hmm?”
He bumped his shoulder gently into Jay’s.
“I don’t know about you, but I think we can make some pretty… amazing memories.”
Lou looked over, his eyes holding a slight romantic twinkle as he smiled sweetly.

“As am I,” Lou said, taking the man’s hand. His was warm and rough, but gentle nonetheless.
“You think this is a good place to start?”
With a nod of his head, he gestured to the open canal, the moon glaring off of his glasses as well as the water.

“Oh, what I’m planning to do?” he scoffed sarcastically. His smile lingered as he rolled his eyes. “Sorry, monsieur— last time, I kissed you first. Think it might be someone else’s turn, huh?”

“Who knows,” Lou said softly. “Maybe I’ll time jump us back, maybe I won’t.”
His smile faded to a smirk, but his eyes held that same certain luminosity to them

Lou had to resist the urge to laugh as he returned the kiss, his hand making its way to Jay’s waist.
“Don’t worry,” he said softly as they broke for a moment. “If anything, I’ll be chucked in right along with you.”

“No problem to me,” he said, closing his own eyes. “No problem at all.”
For a moment he rested there, until he met eyes with Jay again, his heart beating furiously in his chest.

Lou’s other hand found its way to the man’s waist and he embraced Jay fully, meeting the man’s lips with his own.
His ear twitched at the sound of people. Seems their abandoned street was no longer abandoned.
To preserve the moment, Lou jumped back to present day, the two of them in the same position but back in Lou’s warm apartment. Though, Lou ceased to end the moment, staying exactly where he was.

Lou took his hand from Jay’s and instead wrapped it around his waist, his hands meeting in the back as he pulled the man closer. His heart continued to beat but slowed as his entire body felt elevated. His head was fuzzy and he couldn’t think straight, just felt content.

Lou felt almost as if a new area of his mind had been unlocked— like a new room he had never even explored before. And the second he stepped into it, his mind was clear. He could feel everything. For the first time ever, in Lou’s life, time had stopped for him. His watch had stopped clicking. The bell tower ceased to ring. It was only he and Jay.
Part of Lou wondered what was real and what wasn’t. If his “stopping of time” was something of his own doing or just what people always talked about in those movies he used to watch. Either way, he refused to break it.

Louis’ heart kicked slow but hard, like it knocked on his chest to be let out. Lou had no problem with opening that door. Despite his previous efforts, his heart was all Jay’s. It belonged to him now.
While still this deep in the moment, the back of Lou’s mind began to wander. What would happen if just Lou jumped about a month in the future… he wondered if Jay would still be there. Or was he being serious.. that after just this one month, he would be gone.

His attention was drawn back to the moment at he felt Jay adjust. A horde of butterflies rose in his stomach and his pulse quickened. He slowed the pace of his breathing, hoping to calm it without having much luck. Lou’s mind settled to completely clear, just focusing on the man in front of him.
