Riley looked around the room. He rolled onto his back and got onto his feet. There were a few others in the room. "So… did you guys almost die too or is it just me?" he asked.
Truth Or Dare RP (With A Bunch Of Twists) [PRETTY MUCH CLOSED]
"Yep…" Laura could barely answer Riley as she slumped onto the floor and put her head in her hands. It was finally hitting home now. Life as they knew it was really and truly over. She sobbed and sobbed.
\ laura's gonna go a wee bit hysterical now. cos you know, i figure they've just been kidnapped and forced to face their worst fears, so a bit of sobbing is all good… XD \
"Do-do you think maybe we have a certain amount of lives? Like maybe we each just lost one?" Lyric speaks what she's thinking.
Riley looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "This isn't a videogame," he said. "We have one life, and one life only," He looked at the girl slumped on the ground. "We need to compose ourselves. Whatever's happening to us won't be fixed by us sitting here feeling sorry for ourselves. Maybe… maybe there's a way out of here. We need to come up with some sort of plan."
(I think it'll add effect that they have to watch the others be punished right before them.)
Tyler tried to stand and winced a bit as he did so. "Who are you guys?" He asked breathlessly.
(again, really?
what happened?)
Jubilee saw people now.
"What did you do?" she asked, concerned.
Tyler approached them cautiously. He limped a little. "Who. Are. You???"
Laura took a deep breath and stood up, vowing that she wouldn't spend any more of her tears on these sickos.
"My name's Laura." she said to the new boy.
She turned to Riley. "I agree. We need a plan. There's got to be some way out of this. I think first priority is finding out why we've been brought here. Once we have their motive we'll have a better chance of an escape plan."
Riley nodded. "I'm Riley, by the way," he said. "Is this everyone? I think we should discuss this with everyone."
"I agree." Laura said.
She turned back to the new guy. "Who are you?"
Sasha wondered how long this 'game' was going to go on.
"Dare," he said. Even as he said it he knew that was a bad idea. The screen flickered before changing the words and his heart dropped.
"Pour a drop of hydrochloric acid onto your hand, and don't make a sound until screen resets."
Shit. NO WAY was he doing this. Not only did he have severe chemophobia but also this was just an insane thing to ask of him. But a thud temporarily distracted him from his thoughts and he twirled around him to find that desk with a single bottle and a pipette.
Ignoring the urge to go as far from it as possible, he looked at the screen in consideration before looking down. He stamped his foot on the floor and grinned shakily when he heard an echo from under him. It's hollow, he realized. But as soon as his hope went up it went down again, because when he looked at the container he knew there wasn't nearly enough acid to make a big dent in the floor.
Heart heavy, he slowly reached for the bottle and pipette, hands trembling. Ignoring the now screaming voice in his head, he unscrewed the lid, nearly dropping the bottle multiple times , and dipped the pipette into it.
Then he poured a drop onto the very tip of his finger and hoped his brain would feel too much pain to actually feel it all.
Unfortunately no such luck. It hurt worse than he'd feared, almost impossible to bear, and he only just withheld a scream by putting his other hand in his mouth and biting down hard. He tripped around silently in too much pain to think properly, trying to smear the acid off onto the walls, not even registering the extra agony it gave him. After a while the pain dulled slightly and he was able to think properly enough to acknowledge what a DUMB fucking idea that had been.
He couldn't stay quiet for long, though. It was only a stupid mistake that ruined it. He saw a flicker from the corner of his eye and mistook it for the screen resetting (in actuality it was the table going back into the floor). Without turning to check, he let out the scream that had been building up in him the entire time. It was only a few seconds after he stopped that he realized the flicker had come from the wrong side of the room.
With a heavy heart, he turned towards the screen. It read: You have failed. you had -11.5- seconds remaining before the screen reset. Enter the door and await punishment.
He looked around. The table was gone and behind where it had been was a door. He gulped and walked shakily towards it. He turned the handle and stepped inside. When he turned around, he was in the lobby room and there were faces staring back at him, surprised.
"Hi," he said, not even trying to hide his pain.,
Lyric waves sheepishly. "Hi. You face death too?"
"Something like that," he winced and held up his hand. "Had to put a drop of acid onto my hand and not make a sound until the screen reset. For fairly obvious reasons, it wasn't easy to do, hence the reason I'm here - I failed."
(whoops I never made Kyra go into the main lobby)
Kyra noticed a door automatically open to her right. Trying to get out of the small room as quickly as possible, she ran to it, and felt the same feeling of dizzyness that she did earlier.
She looked around, everybody seemed to be gathered there already. Well, everybody from before. Who knows if there were anymore people. She walked up to their group, trying to remain calm, for they had composed themselves. She listened to the person speaking, not recognizing them from before.
"Wow, that sounds way worse than what I went through, and I still couldn't handle my dare." Kyra let out a sharp laugh.
"I'm Tyler…" He said cautiously. He looked around at the others. "Is this the afterlife? Is that where I am? I should be dead…" Tyler said the fear rising in his voice as did the volume.
(Again, really? What'd I miss?)
"Sasha, by the way. That's my name. And wow, man, are you getting a bit hysterical? You really don't sound ok." Sasha looked towards the panicking boy. "Nah, man, this isn't the afterlife, though I kinda wish it were, considering half of us are probably awaiting punishment. What are y'all names, anyways? I can't remember from before - maybe the pains distracting me or something."
(Well, half the characters failed their dares and are awaiting punishment, and I'm not sure the story can progress much past that until @wake-read-eat-sleep comes on again. Until then, feel free to - I dunno. Write whatever happens to your character? Go wild )
Tyler stopped, embarrassed. "Yeah I am sorry…" He stopped again. "WAIT NO! I'M NOT APOLOGIZING! OF COURSE I'M HYSTERICAL! I WAKE UP IN A STRANGE ROOM WITH A BUNCH OF STRANGERS AND AM FORCED DO A DANGEROUS VERSION OF A GAME FOR ANGSTY MIDDLE SCHOOLERS! THEN I'M SUCKED INTO A ROOM AND TOLD TO JUMP. NOW I HAVE A DISLOCATED ANKLE WHEN I SHOULD HAVE DIED!" He took a deep breath and sat down, a frown on his face.
Kyra grimaced at Tyler's outburst, but then tried to console him. "Hey, dude, at least you didn't die, right?" She winced at her attempt at comforting someone.
"Anyways, I'm Kyra. Besides a bee sting, I didn't get hurt, and now I feel really wimpy. I only had, like, three minutes left until I would have won the dare. But then again, what happens when we win a dare?" Tired of standing still, which she had just done for an almost full hour, she sat on the ground, and leaned against a wall. "Gosh, I really, really wish this was just a terrible nightmare," She sighed, fumbling with the locket around her neck.
"Me too." Tyler said quietly. "Sorry for yelling. And I suppose I should be glad I didn't die. But this place is turning out to be much worse than death."
"Can't argue with that logic. And it's not your fault for freaking out. We all did, I'm pretty sure, just in our own ways." Kyra told him.
She looked around the room, noting the door that was now shut again. She wondered if it would open for anyone else. Besides the faint light from the screen, the room was fairly dark. Kyra shuddered, always afraid of the dark. Well, maybe not so much the dark, but the eery, lonely feeling that is attached to it, like something is always watching you. It's not like she would actually tell anyone though, that would only make it worse.
(I can relate to that feeling.)
"So what's the punishment?" Tyler said, rubbing his now swollen ankle.
"I wish we knew," Kyra sighed. "All I know is that it's not good. And most likely very painful. Jeez, next time, I'm totally choosing Truth. What could possibly be bad about that?" She laughed nervously, knowing there was a twist somewhere in this 'game'. But where?
"Uh well. Actually, there is something bad about it. When I answered it showed my answer to my friends and stuff." Tyler said, blushing.
Kyra didn't stop her jaw from dropping. "Are you kidding me? So they not only have kidnapped us, but they somehow have connection to our loved ones?" Kyra jumped up from rage, not being able to control it now. "What kind of sick game is this? I swear, if it's one of those stupid reality shows to see who breaks first, I will kill someone."
"Well you and I have broken so shouldn't we be let out or something? Eliminated?" Tyler said desperately trying to think of a rational explanation for this.
