Keigo was working hard, the stressed look on his face as he ran around his ship like a chicken with his head cut off “ HOW THE HELL COULD THERE BE TWENTY FUCKING MEN ON THIS SHIP AND NOT ONE OF YOU KNOW WHEN A FUCKING ASTEROID HITS THE HULL!”
“ wanna be a pirate with me?” ( closed)
language
(Haul as in ‘haul the trailer’ or hull as in ‘the hull of a ship?)
( hull in the ship, I couldn't figure out how to spell it-w-)
language
(Ah, okay. Just wanted to make sure)
Amelia paused as she snacked on a sandwich. An asteroid hit the ship? How bad? Did the ship need repairs?
She quickly finished her sandwich and went to investigate, trying to see if anyone knew how bad the asteroid hit was, and if she could help.
Keigo had his whole crew out on the deck, cursing like a sailor. “ what in the name of Merlin we're you lit thinking!? We've been out for months at a time, towing a ship along is no God damn different then hauling fucking lost treasure or extra supplies!” he was clearly mad and his voice was cold.
language
Amelia stayed in the background, out of the way of any crew members. She watched silently, still intent on figuring out what had happened and if she could help.
Keigo’s anger didn’t faze her, as she had dealt with similar outbursts before. Though she couldn’t deny that she was actually a little fascinated by the change.
“ let's go fix this bullshit” he said storming off until he noticed Amelia “ sorry, I didn't mean to wake you,” he said half-heartedly. Clearly, he still had a temper about him.
language
“You’re fine, and I was finishing eating when I heard you. Is there anything I can do to help? I know my way around making repairs, though I might need some tips since I haven’t been in a ship like this in a little over a year,”Amelia replied, her tone and posture casual.
Keigo sighed “ nothing but the upper mantel was damaged. And it only has a scratch. I'm just angry because we've never had this problem before. “ he said taking her hand and pulling her close. “ if you wanna help you can. I'm just going to skim it out.”
language
Amelia nodded, smiling a little at his pull.
“I’ll join you, and I can help make sure that nothing else was damaged as well, in case the sensors didn’t catch it. I’ve had that happen before,”she said, rolling her eyes at the last bit.
“ sounds good “ he said with a warm smile. He headed over to the space lock and put on his suit.
language
Amelia smiled back and followed him. She suited up as well.
“Ready?”
“ as ever” he said, dreading the journey ahead.
language
She smiled softly, remembering that he didn’t like spacewalks.
“Don’t worry. We’re together, and I love these ventures,”she comforted him.
Keigo smiled and put his helmet on jumping out of the space lock “ alleeee”
language
Amelia laughed and followed him. She then expertly swung around and climbed to the top of the ship, keeping an eye on Keigo to make sure he was doing alright.
“So, all fun aside, where’s the damage?”she asked.
“ right about here,” he said, floating around endlessly “ I think… I may get sick..”
language
Amelia went over to him, noticing the scratched hull, then gently grabbed him, guiding him to a place he could grab onto the ship.
“You stay there for a moment. Get your mind off of it, ground yourself. I usually focus on the ship, the solidity of it, the colors and shapes. I’m right here, okay? I’ll see what I can do with this,”Amelia said.
She stayed a moment to make sure he would be alright, then floated over to the scratch in the hull.
Keigo thought of anything other than himself floating. “ hard ground. Farming. Cows”
language
(So what do you want to do about the scratch? Is it just a simple scratch, maybe some paint and shallow marks, or is there more to it? Having a hard time deciding)
Amelia overheard him.
“Toaci and his beautiful feathers. You and your gorgeous green eyes…”she said, hoping to guide him to more comforting thoughts that were not so obviously aimed to distract himself.
Keigo smiled slightly looking at her “ hazel eye “ he said softly ( smol scratch )
language
Amelia smiled at him, then glanced back down at the scratch.
“Good thing is, there’s not much here. It’s barely dented the hull at all. Just needs a little buffing and a fresh layer of paint, and done,”Amelia announced.
Keigo sighed fogging his glass “ k let's go back in!” he said quickly.
language
“Alright. I’ll help you to the door, then I want to check on my ship. After that, I’ll come right back,”Amelia said.
(I have an idea brewing that would introduce the Tricky Skippers, and maybe even her ex. Sound good, or do you want to keep it like it is?)
( yup!)
language
(Cool)
“ promise?” he asked half-jokingly. He held her hand until they got to the door nudging their helmets together.
language
She smiled, looking into his eyes with sincerity.
“Of course I promise. I don’t know what I’d do without your cuddles,”she said with a giggle.
“Now, go on back in, this way I can come back that much quicker,”she added, teasing him.
“ okay” he said and hopping back into his own airlock
language
(Sorry for the length)
Amelia smiled at him again, then made her way back to her ship. She quickly glanced around, noting no marks, then went inside. She took her helmet off after a moment, then noticed a flashing light on one of the monitors.
Curious, Amelia approached and tapped on it, realizing that it was a voice message. The name made her hesitate, but she quickly reminded herself that this man had always been a friend to her. She clicked on the message.
“Hey, Heartbreaker, it’s Beta-Man. I just wanted to say hello to an old friend, who, apparently, just resurfaced from the void. Found a hot girl, did ya? Anyways, I also wanted to say that there’s a new girl about, big beautiful bitch, let me tell you… and, if you’re interested, we can hook up again and meet her. Sound like a plan, eh? Bite at me when you can. See ya!”
A click marked the end of the message and the flashing light went out. Amelia sat down in the pilot’s seat, a hand covering her mouth in order to contain her emotions.
It had been over a year since anyone from the Tricky Skippers had contacted her. Thankfully, it was Beta-Man, the second-in-command of the gang, one of her oldest friends. Unfortunately, she didn’t much look forward to meeting his older brother, the leader, again.
Amelia sighed and decided to wait on contacting Beta-Man. As she headed out, she grabbed a small pad she used for messaging others when away from her ship. She then composed herself and headed out, floating back to the side of Keigo’s ship and waiting.
