“ wanna be a pirate with me?” ( closed)

Amelia took the paper and stashed it in a pocket.

“Thank you. And, I’m deliberately hard to contact, but I go by Emma Ice-Catcher, with or without the ‘Captain’ part. Also, if you ever meet the Tricky Skippers gang, they’re my partners,”she mentioned.

She heard a soft buzz from the small box hidden underneath the ship and nodded to herself.

“I best get going. And your crew is probably waiting for you.”

Amelia watched him leave, then locked up her ship and grabbed the small box. She followed the directions shown on the screen, meeting with the fence. After a while, she had a buyer for the crate of jewels.

When the crate was out of her hands, Amelia returned to her ship and watched her surroundings for a while, curious if Keigo was still around. If not, she would leave the dock on her long journey of laying low.

“Must be those seizures he mentioned,”Amelia mumbled to herself.

She continued to watch, despite the nagging thought that she should just leave already. For some strange reason she couldn’t yet fathom, Amelia was fascinated by Keigo.

“He has a bird?”Amelia blurted, momentarily stunned.

She continued to watch, but her fingers flexed occasionally, an unconscious effort to quell her restlessness and indecision. Did she want to talk to Keigo some more, or leave? She couldn’t decide.

Amelia watched Keigo that entire day, so torn between the two decisions that she didn’t move at all. She couldn’t deny that she liked him. He was sweet, and rather handsome too.

As night fell, Amelia sat up, trying her best to focus on leaving. However, even as she organized her supplies, she kept glancing out to look for Keigo. What was with her? How many times had she felt this way, only to be betrayed? She had lost count.

Amelia sat back down, admiring Keigo. She wanted badly to talk to him, but she knew it would go wrong. She didn’t have the heart to face another betrayal.

She prepared to leave, fighting her emotions the entire time. As Amelia sat in the pilot’s seat, she decided to wait until Keigo left before leaving herself. Maybe that would soothe her.

Unfortunately, watching Keigo leave didn’t soothe her. However, she pushed through it and undocked as well, leaving. She fought back tears as her ship vanished into the dark sky above.

(I was thinking that they don’t see each other for a long while, not sure how long, then bump into each other again. I don’t know, kind of indecisive right now)

Amelia wiped away the tears on her face as the stars of outerspace swallowed her view. She laughed sadly at the sight before her and wondered if she’d ever meet Keigo again. She then remembered the paper he had given her, but fought against the temptation to contact him. It would only hurt her more.

(Hmm… maybe some months pass and she finally re-emerges from hiding?)

Several months later-

Amelia docked for the first time in a long while. Despite the loneliness, she was glad she had vanished. The authorities had indeed been searching for those jewels, and had traced her down to the dock where she Keigo.

She landed and sighed. She hadn’t contacted Keigo at all since they had met. She had stopped counting how many nights she had cried herself to sleep for it. She didn’t know why she avoided him, and yet, she knew exactly why.

Amelia sighed again and left, tapping her hull again. She hadn’t neglected her calling, but she had avoided looting anything other than low-risk ships. Gazing around, she headed off to roam, wanting to get some fresh supplies and just to move in a place other than her small ship.

Amelia grunted and stumbled as Keigo bumped into her. She whirled around, prepared to hit the man, but stopped, recognizing him just as he recognized her.

“Keigo?”she asked the same time he did.

She then watched as he ran off, stunned.

Amelia walked after him. She stood behind the crowd, but she still heard his tone. The sweet man had a dark side apparently. Amelia fought hard to conceal her grin.

She watched and waited, curious what would happen.

Amelia chuckled as she watched, then slipped into the crowd, avoiding Keigo momentarily. Should she approach him? Or should she leave?

The memories of her many crying fits convinced her, and she emerged from the crowd, approaching him. She put up a stoic expression, but her eyes showed her troubled emotions despite all her efforts to hide it.

“Keigo?”she called quietly to get his attention.

Amelia smiled in amusement at his blush. Though, when he hugged her, she froze, stunned by his actions. She then snorted and wrapped her arms around him, glad that he seemed to feel the same as her.

“I went into hiding, and it was a good thing I did. I… I’m sorry I didn’t contact you. I… don’t know why,”she said, her voice becoming shaky despite her efforts to remain calm.

Amelia snorted, fighting back tears.

“You’re the first person who’s worried about me in a long while. I don’t know what to say,”she said, chuckling helplessly.
