She turned back towards Gus when she heard him talking and she wasnt staring as intensely as she was when she was trying to observe the other two, he seemed nice enough but he was around the same age as….the people that she remembered..so she stayed a little on edge with Gus. (sorry Gus >-<)
"um…I'm, I'm fine…thanks.." she responded in a low and hesitant voice, struggling slightly with her words.
She sat there for a bit before looking at him again, "um…what's, what's chocolate..?"

Gus blinked in surprise. "Chocolate? Well it's….it's candy, sorta. It's real good! Jez, do we got any of those chocolate bars left? You should try one, Jasper, I bet you'd love it." He kept most of his focus on his work, but tried to put a smile in his voice as he tied off the last stitch.

Darius fell asleep, his notebook, open to the page where he wrote about the people he just met, was sitting on the floor beside him where he had dropped it when he dozed off.

Jez raises his eyebrows "oh chocolates great!" He says happily, reaching over to his bag beside them and unzipping with one hand, reaching in in getting a chocolate bar "here ya go. Try it" he hands it to her with a soft smile.

Shes hesitantly staring at it in bewilderment, before reaching slowly to take it and pull it back to herself and bite into it slowly, chewing it in her mouth before her Expression changed into one of amazmemt. she talked with her mouthful "It's rweally gwood!"

Gus grinned. "See? Told ya. Don't eat too much now, or you'll feel sick. But a bar or two won't hurt." Pulling a roll of bandages out of his backpack, he started wrapping them around Jez's arm snugly. "Almost done here. Y'won't wanna be too rough with these stitches fer a few days, Jez, or they'll snap. Want a sling t' help you remember?"

Jez laughs a little, "see? Chocolate's the best. Well-next to beef jerky" he says with a smile before pulling his attention to Gus.
"Oh that's fine. I can't fight with a sling" he huffs, moving his arm a little "ow-" he stops "fine ill have one" Jez pouts, resting his arm back down next to Gus

Gus snorted with laughter and found a spare shirt, which he expertly fashioned into a sling. "There, that should help. Tomorrow remind me t' change th' dressin' and make sure you ain't gettin' infected. For now, I think I've done all I can for you. Now I'd say we're even, yeah?"

Jez spaced out, having forgotten what they were even about.
"Wait what'd I do for you?" He asks, confused, rolling his should back and forth to see if it were comfortable.

"Aw well, you helped me kill that monster 'n got torn up for it, not t' mention you went into that burnin' house t' get Jasper all by yourself." As per his promise, he didn't bring up Jez's condition out loud, but the point was obvious. "I feel bad fer askin' you to do that without thinkin'. 'S the least I could do to be your doctor after all that."

She was brought back from her thoughts, "oh! Um! Thank- thank you for doing that for me!" She stumbled over her words after she finished the chocolate bar lol moving to nod downwards to Jez, before casting a glance towards the two sleeping people.

Jez scoffs, "don't worry about it, man." He oats his shoulder "you don't owe me anything" he says with a wave of his hand "
He looks to the two newcomers that had fallen asleep. "I guess we don't have much to worry about with them" he sighs "if they were planning something they wouldn't have fallen asleep in front of us" he lets out a laugh
He turns his attention to Jasper "Gus helped to ya know" he says, looking over at Gus with a soft expression.

Gus realized, quite unexpectedly, that the look on Jez's face meant something. Maybe just a little something, but it was there. And even more unexpectedly, Gus realized he was giving Jez the exact same look. He ducked his head quickly, hiding under the brim of his hat. "Well, still. Once I teach you how t' use that rifle, we can switch jobs sometimes. Then it'll really be fair." He glanced at Jasper. "I'm jus' glad we got you somewhere safe. From now on I say we stick together."

Darius fell from his sitting position hitting his head on the floor waking him up. He blinked a few times rubbing his head. Then looked around having no idea where he was he froze.

"oh um.." she looked to Gus, "T-thank- you sir.." she seemed a bit more nervous when addressing Gus, simply just because of his relations to the other guys…even though he seemed really nice she just honestly didn't want to take the chance even though she wanted to trust him, she couldn't make herself, she kept her eyes trained on the floor staying close to Jez.
Sh nodded to his statement, before seeing Darius panicked. "Um…he's awake.."

"Huh? Oh shoot." Gus swiveled and waved to Darius through the door. "Darius! Hey! It's me Gus, we're pals. Remember me?" He tried to look friendly, not sure how Darius would react.

Darius just shrugged and carefully moved out from under June without waking her, he picked up his notebook and walked to the door. "no, I do not remember you…but " he looked in his notebook for a second, "you are an ok person? hm odd notes" he looked back at gus, "sorry…talking to myself"

Jez smiles when Gus hides his face, amused in the slightest. Though his face heating up and turning red, nervous to use the rifle. He couldn't help but wonder if he'd be any good at it.
The only thing keeping him optimistic about it was his trust that Gus was a good teacher.
His eyes went over to Darius, thoroughly confused.
"What? He doesn't remember? What happened? Did you knock him out, Gus?" He halfway joked, confused. As he wasn't informed of his memory issues.

Gus smacked his forehead. "Right, about that. Jez, Darius has some kinda memory trouble. Forgets stuff a lot, he says. Yeah Darius, we're good folks. We're lettin' you and June there stay here for a while since you got nowhere else. And this here is Jasper, she's a little shy so give 'er some space fer now. Clear?"

Darius nodded and waved before looking at Gus, “I’m sorry…what’s your name?”

June woke up and snuck up behind Darius and around him trying to scare the guys.

Jasper noticed June wake up and just kinda watched her as she walked around the area, making sure that she wasn't up to anything that would harm the people she learned to stay with for at least a while.

Jez blinks, watching June do…whatever she was trying to do.
"Man, " he turns his attention to Darius and Gus "how'd he make it this far with that?" He jokes, not aware of how offensive that might be.

June flicked Jez in the ear, “don’t be rude, he has had me to help him through it all…” she lowers her voice “but he doesn’t know what the world has come to.”

Gus grinned ruefully. "Don't worry, we ain't tryin' to poke fun. The name's Gus, partner. Say, maybe we oughta make name tags fer everybody." He was only slightly joking. He was willing to bet there were stickers or tags somewhere in the store they could use.

Jez grabs the hatchet and stands suddenly, backing away from June "don't touch me" he glares, not doing well with this stranger he didn't trust sneaking up and touching him.
