Gus nearly had a heart attack when Jasper ran up to the burly, unfriendly-looking woman behind Jez. And it didn't help when she reacted badly. "Jasper, back up! Ma'am, you let go of her, she's just a kid." Unable to hold still any longer, he hurried over and slung Jez's free arm over his shoulder. "Can we all get inside 'fore we talk?
