Scarlet raised her hand, stifling a grin. “Hear, hear.”
Chelsea stuck her tongue out at Cade and raised her hand.

Cade rolled his eyes. "Being different is what gets you killed. People who chose to live in their own world that the queen doesn't approve of are the ones that die. Hate to be the one to say it, but it's true."
Chelsea’s proud grin flickered away for a second but quickly went back, did not need to remember- “And I care what the queen thinks because..? She couldn’t catch me if she tried!”

Virgil turned to Chelsea. "Believe me, she finds out wherever you go. As soon as she heard that my family had stepped out of the underworld she found us."
“That’s believable.” Chelsea sighed, playing with her hair a little, “But, I have my ways.” And she has hers. “I learn from my mistakes.”

"It's actually quite easy if you do it right." Nykidia said as she wrote down the measurements for Scarlet's and Virgil's head.
“I guess.” Chelsea smiled, her eyes didn’t seem as playful anymore.

"Does anybody else want a hat?" Nykidia said giggling. Her dad seemed so happy doing this. This is the most excited he's been in a while.
“Nah. And, well,” Phoebe glanced out the door. “If no one’s needing me, I’ll be on my way. I do have a brother to save. Or bury. Whichever.”
"What?" Scarlet's head snapped up. "You have to what?"
“Find me if it’s the latter.” Chelsea winked.
“…find my brother? Possibly bury his dead body? What part of that are you not getting?” She sounded confused, like she genuinely didn’t understand.

Wait…Phoebe isn't royalty is she? Probably not. I can let her go, then. Cade thought before shaking his head in Nykidia's direction. "I'm good."
"Why– what happened? Why would you need to do any of that?" Scarlet was also genuinely confused, and more than a little concerned.

Nykidia sighed. "What did your brother do now?" She asked. The Mad hatter was humming away as he was sewing a button or two onto the almost finished. He worked so quickly you could look away for a second and he could be almost done with the hat you just requested.
“..because royalty is being hunted. And we were separated. Very possible he’s dead,” Phoebe said slowly. “Respect to the dead, and all that jazz. I don’t want him haunting me if he is.”

"Well Good luck!" Nykidia said. "Hope you find him alive and in one piece!" The Mad Hatter said still working on Virgil's hat.
"Oh." Scarlet remained silent for a moment. "Do you– do you want any help?"
“No,” she said shortly, then paused. “Though if you have a place for him when I find him…”
Scarlet shook her head. "Sorry, I didn't leave the palace often…"
Chelsea pretended to be interested in the ceiling.
“Well, thanks, anyways.” Phoebe pulled open the door. “I might be back. Hope you’ll still have me.”
“You know where to find me.” Chelsea grinned.
