Is he supposed to leave? Eh, whatever. Chelsea scooted more back into the wall, shifting herself more to make herself more comfortable on top of the bookshelf. She took a sip of her hot chocolate and continued to read her book.

Teresa was chewing the last bite of her cake when she saw Cade come out of the house. She opened her mouth the shout to hthe m but decided against it because he looked like he was in a hurry. She furrowed her brow and decided to follow him

I’m bored. Maybe I should go visit him and see what he’s doing. … or I could finish this really embarrassing part… Chelsea quietly sighed and continued reading, she was going to die from second-hand embarrassment.

Jasper scrambled up a tree, curling up in a small alcove made from curved branches. Maybe there used to be something here - a little girl who curled up and slept too long, a village boy’s ball-
Now was not the time for stories.
Beneath him, there were a few rustles, and Jasper automatically stiffened. He tried to quiet his gasping breaths.

Heath studied the scene that was going on underneath him, startling when the boy had shot up the tree right next to him, literally an arm's length away. Should I make it known that I'm here? He seemed to be running too. But, his friend, sister? Yeah, his sister was just caught, but he could help me or I could help him. He knows sign language, I know some too. Enough to get basic communication at least. After all his crazy thoughts, he decided to make himself known. He leaned over and softly tapped him on the shoulder.

Jasper jumped and twisted around, hand going to pull out a knife. It had been tucked into his boot but he held it defensively in front of him now, eyes wide.

Put the knife down and get more into the leaves, your boot can be seen. Heath signs, pushing the knife down. If you get caught, I'm probably going to get caught too.

Jasper was startled by the other boy knowing sign language, but he regained his senses pretty quickly and flipped him off. The knife didn’t go down, though he did move his foot in.

Thank you. He signed, completely ignoring the middle finger that was stuck up in his direction. Heath moved more inwards in the tree, shifting his weight to a stronger branch and grabbing something out of his messenger bag. It was some dried meat that he had made earlier in the day. Want some?

Shaking his head, Jasper looked down to see if anyone was nearby. He had to get out of here - and not trust this stranger. Get to Teresa’s house - Phoebe’s last words. For now, at least. Hopefully just for now and not forever.

The guards will be patrolling this area for a bit, considering that at least two criminals have run through here. He signed, silently munching on a piece of meat. His munching revealed his sharp teeth, the sign of a demon. If you want to leave you have to probably wait a few hours or so.

Teresa saw where he went and quickly ran back to the cabin. She stopped at the door and panted, trying to catch her breath. She ran inside and woke everyone up “guys…breath… wake up!” She yelled

Phoebe’s arm’s had been cuffed behind her, and the guards were leading her back to the palace as Cade showed up. She glanced over him, then did a double-take. She stared at him for a bit before seemingly realizing why he was there. Then, her face hardened and she turned away.

Jasper rolled his eyes and rapidly signed, “I don’t have a few hours and I think I’ll take my risks with the forest I grew up in.” He started looking for ways out, either down or across another tree.
