Zoe couldn't hear the others anymore as she kept walking. Well thats what I get. No one cares anymore. She thought sadly to herself. ( Whats the next danger, air?)
Cash waits until the others have made sure they have weapons, and continues down the dusty road that Zoe took. Worry and annoyance both storm around in his mind, both energizing and tiring him at once.

Zoe begun to worry. Maybe I should go back to the others. She thought to herself. No, there's a reason why they haven't come after you. She kept walking along the dirt road until she heard a crack. "Who's there." She spun around with a machine gun in her hand, threatening who ever was there.

(I do have an alternate suggestion that may be better for continuity purposes, but whatever a majority decides is fine. Maybe terrifying zombie-fied animals instead of hybrids? Just because it's a zombie apocalypse. Again, doesn't matter a whole lot to me.)
