Mia was raised on rock music - 80's classics like Metallica and Deff Leopard, Van Halen and AC/DC. As she grew, her musical tastes became harder and she ventured into metal of all kinds. Her favorite bands were Ethereal and This Mortal Coil.

While pursuing a job in the medical field, the mortal Mia followed her bands almost religiously and when able, went to every concert she could just to meet her idols - who were friends and did lots of shows together while they climbed in popularity: Cathetal Tithiros and Kaelene Serafino. She attended so many shows that she was considered a friend of the bands, and was on a first name basis with Cathetal.

When Cathetal went missing, Mia became a medical examiner and was shaken by the news. She helped the band and the Tithiros family as much as she could. She was relieved when the sisters reappeared, both alive. But... Whatever trauma they endured had disrupted her idol's memories something fierce. Cathetal, now going by Aerallis, didn't remember her. While she attended as many shows as she could, Aera never got her memories back and they had to start from ground zero. But with Mia's demanding job, getting back to that status never really happened again.

A few years later, FBI agent Valencia Minnaar recruited Mia - who was arguably the best medical examiner in the city of Kiri at the time - to Germany on a mission chasing the Cult of Bane, starting with a victim they believed was from the cult. What Mia saw during the investigation caused her to turn into a Mage and, once they returned to the States, resulted in her stepping down and choosing to be a Forensic technician instead.

The Tithiros sisters - and Kaelene - moving to Kiri made the mage ecstatic. She started to rekindle her friendship with her idols and build a friendship with Ilosti. And things were going great.

Until Kaelene died.
And Aerallis's corpse was placed in front of her not long after.

That was her breaking point.
Mia swore to resign after Aera's case was closed.

It had been too long to bring her back as a Ghoul. But upon inspection, she noted the presence of magic at work and holding desperately to hope, she had the body transferred to her morgue after the examination was complete. There, she preserved the body and while waiting for the funeral, Mia forged embalming paperwork and so on. Camille's body arrived shortly after the announcement of Aerallis's death... And her brain was too damaged for Mia's magic to take hold.

The next day she came to work, all that remained of the human's body was a skeleton - picked clean. A few other corpses were in the same state and hopeful, she pulled out the container for Aerallis. To her utter bliss, she discovered that her idol had turned, seemingly overnight, into a Ghoul. But Aera never woke during the day.

Not knowing who her idol's killers could be, Mia made the decision to keep her turning a secret. She made the funeral as authentic as possible - casting a spell to keep the ghoul asleep and hide the truth from other supernaturals that would be in attendance. It worked. Possibly too well. Aera was buried in the Eternal Gardens Cemetery. Mia planned to return and retrieve her from the rocky tomb once she'd resigned and made preparations for the two of them to leave the city undetected. But she took too long. By the time she dug up the grave and opened the coffin, there was no one in it.

She's been frantically looking for Aerallis ever since.
Not knowing where else she could've gone, Mia followed Ilosti to Snow Haven and kept her distance.

• I'm not sure if she's with the Blood Legion currently or if she was followed by the Reine and committed suicide to keep the secret safe.


• If the latter, her last words would have been "For the Blood Legion" in honor of a song - Blood Legion - by Angelsbane. That could have been the inspiration for the group's name, to honor her sacrifice.
