Daemonium-Angelus "Demon-Angel" is a religion with no god. Heaven is directed by a chosen leader and hell is ruled by the King of Hell. A lot of the basics are like Christianity (Like going to Heaven or Hell when you die), minus the Bible and its stories.

There was a deity named Mother. Mother faded after she created her two sons. Haiti, the first demon, and Ira, the first angel. Haiti made Hell and Ira made Heaven.

An important part of the story is that Haiti killed his brother, Ira. That is why Heaven is led by government and Hell is led like a monarchy. (I will link pages for it to make sense :3)

Julian was born into a well-known noble British witch family, the Rowlands, to Tobias and Roselyn Rowland in 1895. He was the eldest of two siblings, Maryse and Dexter. When he was little, he practiced magic with his father six hours a day. At 5 years old, the melanin in his hair disappeared, turning it slightly silver. By 7, his hair was completely silver. When Julian was 14, his mother drowned while saving his brother. Like the rest of the family, he was broken. He had a magic outburst that almost injured his father. His father sat him down to talk about how emotions control magic and that nothing was his fault. Julian took the step up in his family and took care of his siblings. He helped them learn magic. Is when attentive and tending nature kicked in. When he was 16, he learned medicine, or rather the white arts. It took him 7 years to master it before becoming a white witch.

Skip forward to 1916, when a demon attacked his siblings. He came in to rescue, scaring the demon back to hell. A demon injured his brother severely and in his efforts, found out his brother had an injury to his occipital lobe. Julian could not heal his severe brain injury. His brother Dexter could no longer be independent. Dexter had lost cognitive function. Julian took care of his brother for a few months before meeting a young man drafted to fight in WWI.

He met a young American named James Blackwood, who was drafted to fight in WWI. James was what he called a clairvoyant.
