He prefers function over fashion, so he is often seen in clothes that are breathable and easy to move in. He prefers to wear colors like black, blue, and silver.
He has a number of knives on him, not necessarily for protection, but because he finds the blades beautiful. He usually has a carvers knife, and a dagger.
Nature
Nyaery tends to distance himself from others. He has a hard time keeping in touch and socializing, but he does care.
Nyaery becomes snappy and irrational when people idolize The Goddess of Life or Gods. He feels as if no one truly understands the monster that rules Earth. He will quickly exit the conversation to avoid blowing up.
Nyaery does not mind being touched by people he's close with, however, he does find himself becoming awkward, not used to skin contact or affection. This however has one exception, his sister Araite
. She has a habit of grabbing someone's hand or shoulder when talking, but he doesn't mind it, it's second nature between the two of them.
In his childhood, Nyaery was motivated to be better than his sister, Eilore. Nothing mattered to him other than being stronger, smarter, and funnier than her.
Eventually, that competition died down as he grew up and he focused himself on his kiolati. He began to distance himself and questioned his purpose and path in life. He became depressed and searched for comfort in his sisters and The Goddess of Life.
However, he was not met with concern and understanding. Instead, he had gotten a wake-up call from The Goddess that he was not created for such matters, and to do his job of taking care of Earth and serving the humans.
Because of that Nyaery is motivated to stay as far as possible from The Goddess and anyone who supports her.
Nyaery tends to push people away for no particular reason. He also finds himself becoming hateful to people who take actions he is against.
He slacks off from his duties often, honestly, he only goes back to visit The Moon. She is the only person he cants push away.
Nyaery dislikes humans. The majority of this comes from his purpose in life and The Goddess of Life's adamancy to create a perfect world for the creatures. He thinks of humans as lazy leeches who only suck the life out of Earth.
Nyaery particularly does not like royal officials, leaders, and priests. He thinks they only take advantage and hurt others for their gain in the name of the gods.
However, Alma Angels are a completely different story in his book. They prove that there is some purity in the human race, and almost all of them are kind to him, unlike the Deus Angels who think lowly of him.
He also hates Harpies the most out of all the races. He often sees them due to their preference of the night, much to his annoyance. He believes that living things should be able to die peacefully and let their souls rest, but Harpies only steal that right from living creatures. To him, they bring nothing but mayhem and sorrow.
Nyaery is good at wood carving. He loves the work of the blades and the beauty of wood. He would like to try sculpting with clay or stone one day.
Nyaery is also good at painting and pottery. He finds joy in slowly crafting beauty in front of his eyes.
Once, Nyaery carved a wooden flute. After hours of practice and time, he could create beautiful melodies. Humans believe that this is the sound of The Moon singing.
Nyaery enjoys carving wood in his free time, as well as playing his flute.
He also finds himself having a weird habit of watching animals. Not magical creatures, but the normal ones who scurry and run freely. His favorite animals to watch are foxes.
Although he dislikes humans, there's something so intriguing about festivals and celebrations they participate in. Ignoring the fact that most of them have some twisted religious meaning, watching humans eat and sing till they pass out brings a certain sting of pain and joy. He almost yearns to join.
Social
Nyaery likes the colors green and blue. He thinks its calming and can express many feelings through shades and tones. He loves painting with these colors.
Nyaery loves to eat meat, particularly in the form of steak and onions or chicken parmesan. He loves savory food with a sweet tangy sauce or side. Paired with some bread and wine it's the perfect meal.
On the sweeter side, he enjoys danishes, especially strawberry-filled ones.
A beaded bracelet Araite
made him when they were kids. He hides it under the sleeves of his clothes to make sure it wont accidentally break.
When he was first given the bracelet he refused to wear if because he thought it was girly. The pastel pinks, oranges, and blues accompanied with cute charms and gems was repulsive.
His sister cried for days when he refused her gift, she was a sensitive child who was distraught by the slightest bit of rejection.
Eventually, he felt guilty enough to wear the bracelet in private. His sister was overjoyed and he couldn't bring himself to take it off. Now, out of force of habit he makes sure to keep good care of the trinket.
It reminds him of how much his sister loves him, and that if their was not where else to go he could always count on Araite
.
History
June 17th, 3:37 A.M.
Nyaery learned from Goddess of Life directly. She never attended school or interacted with children outside of her siblings, but in a way, she had a better education than most.
Nyaery and his sister always had competitions on who could get the better grades, say the answers the fastest, gain praise from The Goddess. For him it was mostly about beating Eilore, not winning, so he had never grown to love learning as he should have.
Now, as an adult, he finds himself interested in math and science, specifically about the environment. Any books or notes he can get his hands on he takes.
