Adele is subdued, pensive, a woman of few words. She's been alone so long, she sometimes forgets what it's like to be around other people and it takes her a while to adjust. She sort of stopped feeling things a long time ago and doesn't feel happiness but occasional content. She avoids (and thinking) about difficult subjects, seemingly would rather suffer in silence.
She may have some sort of ASD or other neurodivergence. She's easily overwhelmed by sensory stimuli, she feels things very strongly. She has a very hard time expressing her emotions and showing affection. Does not always understand social cues or jokes. These symptoms were exacerbated by trauma in life, exacerbated by isolation and becoming a vampire but she was always considered odd in her mortal life.

Her extreme need for solitude makes it very hard to maintain relationships, but she does desire companionship and love. It's never come up before but I could see her getting a little jealous when it comes to Davey Douglas . He has a lot of very close, very beautiful friends, he's a very physical person and everyone's always trying to get with him. I can't say I blame her but idk how this will manifest. I intend to find out... eventually.
She does truly love him but is flighty and not really sure why he loves her so much. She also doesn't seem to be able to comprehend that she is in a relationship with him and withdraws when she starts to feel to comfortable.

She's got a lovely singing voice.
She took up woodworking and carving as a vampire, she's also something of a mechanical genius, keeping a car running decently well for around 40 years.

She's quite clever, she wanted to be a teacher and maybe attend university before she got pregnant. She has taught herself a fair few hands on skills. She likes puzzles. Very calm and steady under pressure but often breaks down immediatley after.

In the city, she has discovered lounge wear. You can find her in sweat pants and big puffy sweaters. She favors flowy skirts and blouses if she has to go out. She still avoids shoes at all costs. When her hair gets too tangled, instead of cutting it herself, lets Aurelie take her to a salon and gets her hair cut professionally.
Described as striking, though not traditionally beautiful. Davey Douglas says she has a fascinating face.

It was Emanuel’s and then it was her son's, her daughter's. And then she’d died and it was this monster, this Beast. The Beast is still there when she does this, she can’t hide from that but it can’t hurt anyone when she’s like this."
"She shouldn’t have come back to New Orleans, what was she thinking? There are memories in Baton Rogue too but they are gentler. She should have taken them there. Or stayed back at Maurepas. Or just died when she was supposed to…

"I’m sorry, Alain. For everything. We have an… odd relationship. That’s not going to change."

"I'm broken, Alain. I was born broken and sad. You don't want me, I'll weigh you down."
"He was 6, I think. I told him he was old enough to start helping me with chores and he wasn't having it. So I let him walk out the door. I was on to him though. " She chuckles. "Made to the front gate and couldn't get it open. Too little. So he was hollering for me to come help him, so he could run away. I didn't make it in time so he got bored. Came back to the house and asked me what was for supper."

"Are you angry with me?" He asks, lamely. Adele scoffs.
"I think you have bigger fish to fry, don't you?"
"I don't know. I don't know how to feel. You've put me in a bind, Alain. I lose one of you either way."
"You didn't call me just to talk about the vast emptiness of Wyoming, did you?"
"But…I love him, against my better judgment. And I am terrified for him. I don't see the point in being furious now. Even when I try… it all comes back to fear. For both of you."

"I'm sick of just sitting here doing nothing. I have to try, he got into this mess to find me. You're not much better, Olivia."
"Fine. But I'm rolling down the windows, it reeks of cigarettes, I can smell it from out here."
"Don't be silly, of course not. I bought it at the Renaissance Faire."
"Then this will be the killing blow. What I want from you is to leave me alone."
"None of this would have happened if you hadn't tried to find me. We'd still be content in our own worlds. Whatever we had has run it's course. It's too dangerous to keep it up. It's time we go our separate ways."
