In joining the Syndicate and becoming a 'hero', Akio's hoping to find some sort of direction in life.

Akio, as a person, likes to explore his options and doesn't like the idea of having to commit to something. As such, he has spent much of his life traveling around, meeting new people, and trying a variety of things. Because of this lifestyle, Akio has a variety of interests and has learned ways of how to speak around a variety of people. In trying to appeal to the widest range of people, this has caused Akio to make a facade out of his personality.

Before starting his adventurous life style, Akio was actually a pretty good student, but he dropped out during college. Despite that, Akio retained all of his intelligence, but acts in a way that leads people to believe he's dumber than he is so that they expect less of him. He doesn't take himself too seriously either.

Around people he likes, Akio is willing to drop his dumb-person facade, revealing a side of him that is more genuine. He likes in-depth conversations in things that he is interested in, or things that he has been convinced are interesting.

Akio first started collecting rocks as a way to study his powers, but after some years of getting used to his powers he now just collects rocks for fun. He also likes dressing himself up.

Concerned about having people like him, Akio may do or say things that conflict with how he really feels or thinks. His self-imposed 'pretty idiot' act also puts a hamper on his real capabilities.

Knife Wielding: Akio has a knife (or is it more of a chisel?) that he is pretty good at using — not necessarily in combat, but moreso in hacking off bits of stray crystal on his body.

Gun Wielding: Akio's got a old-ish pistol which he picked up on his travels, and he's a pretty decent shot with it.

Crystal Generation & Crystallokinetic Constructs: Akio is able to create crystals from his body as well as create crystalline structures when maintaining contact with a surface. When making crystals, he can’t ‘take them back’ or reabsorb them. This means any crystalline body modifications he makes are permanent and must be hacked off if he wants to return to his normal self. This also applies to any structures he makes. Must be hell to clean up.

Crystalline Body: Akio’s ‘flesh’ is composed of both organic and inorganic matter, giving his body a kind of crystalline structure. This condition gives parts of Akio’s body a higher resolve as well as a higher pain threshold. A lack of veins in the traditional sense also means he doesn’t bleed out when certain parts of him are hacked off.

This physiology can be disadvantageous, however, as where in some situations people get scars, entire limbs could break off for Akio. Not all is lost when a limb breaks though. If he can retrieve a lost body part, he can reattach it through crystallization. This process gets messier the more fucked up the severed part is, but if it works, it works.

Graduated from high school and got into college, flunked in his second year, however.
