His beloved van, Gertie. He bought it for six dollars off of some sketchy website when he was seventeen and he now lives in it. Gertie is his home, his best friend, his trusty companion that's gotten him out of dozens of police chases.

Gertie is a white panel van that Howie bought for six dollars off of some really sketchy website. (His identity has been stolen and there are currently four different Howie Lángs living in the US.) Gertie has a beautiful mural of a unicorn and a dragon playing electric guitars in the middle of space on both sides of the van. However, the drawings are just slightly different and it bothers everyone but Howie.

Gertie's license plates are over twelve years expired and the front one spells "CRIMS" and the back one spells "CIMES". Both of them were meant to say "CRIMES".

Howie also lives in the back of Gertie! It smells like hot garbage, but there's beaded curtains! He doesn't have a bed and instead sleeps on top of a pile of pillows and blankets.
