He was created by Tristan with one goal, kill or weaken (emotionally/physically) those who oppose his creator. His first victim was given to him by Tristan. It was a young man who was very aggressive toward both of them, trying to attack Tristan with his twin swords. Tristan quickly unarmed him, clawing the man's lower left arm as he was trying to shield himself and tied him up. Tristan, having other plans on his mind, told Kaden to do what he wished with the younger man. Kaden started by shocking him on his lower right stomach. He then electrocuted the right side of his face, burning it to the point where the skin and muscle started to fry away. His ear was burned as well but not enough for it to go away. Kaden cut at it with small lightning bolts. The man's teeth showed through the burnt side. Forcing the man to look him in the eyes, Kaden took great pleasure in making the man beg for his life. He tore out the man's eye before shocking again. Then he decided to let the young man live, leaving him for dead.

He continued on, claiming more victims, some dying and some escaping or being allowed to flee. If any of his past victims came in contact with him, they tried to kill him and all were unsuccessful.

When he saw Talia, he knew she was his next victim. He, in a disguised form, met with her in the woods around her house and played along with her for a while, talking with her and listening to her, but he eventually tried killing her. He blindfolded her, lead her deeper into the woods, and shocked her hands, burning them horribly. As she was in too much shock and pain to fight back or try to take her blindfold, he transformed his arm into a black claw and sliced at her neck. Believing she was dead, Kaden left.

About a year later, after a confrontation with Tristan, his creator left a huge hole on the right side of his face which is why his hair covers it. He also injured them in other areas. He was left in the woods to die when Talia found him. He initially tried to attack her but Talia cut part of his face with a knife, revealing to her that he weren't human. As she tried to help him, he questioned why she was helping him, after what he had done. She said that no one should be left alone to die. This shocked him, all of his previous victims that survived, attacked him on site and wanted to kill him yet Talia did not. With that, she eventually coaxed him to let her help him and he agreed. He planned to kill her off, once and for all, but they slowly started to become friends. He eventually told her about how he was going to kill her and how bad he felt. He asked if she could forgive him and she said she already had. With that, he smiled his first genuine smile.

After spending time with Talia, her parents tried to convince her to stay away from him, as they didn't like him and feared for her safety. She tried to convince them that he changed but they didn't believe her. She and Kaden met in secret for about a month. During that time, her parents divorced. Soon after, Kaden and Talia ran away together and they lived as nomads, growing even closer.
