-- Due to her vitiligo, Yalka's scalp burns easily and processed The Threads affects her more than other locals, so she tries to keep out of the sun, or wears her headbands whenever possible. She was excluded from a lot of Sivn'k communal farming work because of her skin sensitivity, instead given the job of thread-collector, as unprocessed Threads do not affect her at all (highly unusual for a human).

Possibly some manifestation of ADHD, leading to her walloping through the trades-workers of Sivn'k

-- Since she was little, Yalka was cursed with ecstatic visions, often of her flying up to the moon, or being chased by strange monsters around the stars. Yalka has become something of an outcast in her village due to these.

• She tends to click her tongue at situations she deems under the work of the supernatural or otherwise inconveniently frustrating, something she learned from her aunt who believed the sharp noise would scare away the invisible creatures.

-- She is a bit insufferable when bored, generally unable to sit in silence with nothing immediate to do and resorting to pestering Aurus with endless questions, which he tends to reroute into lessons and discussions of the books he gives her to read. This translates well to her place as the Mind Regent of The New Corpus, where she is expected to keep up with the rest of the Corpus as their leader.

Pure-fallen thread; it does not affect her, so she can handle it against the sensitive skin of anyone trying to pester her, giving them furious rashes and dissuading them from keeping at her.

The Idyllic All , liable to change

Yalka hails from Yu’hn, in a small farming town to the north called Sivn’kya.

Recently, some Vagapariñe scholastic cults have been trying to kidnap her, as they heard of her visions and believe that she is the key to being able to go to Reigín and their king-god as the True One.

She is shallowly trained in a wide variety of occupations, from handwork like weaving to medical practices like midwifery, and hard labor like farming and metallurgy, being bounced around the skilled laborers in her village until she found a position as a thread-collector

Because of this, she can read a tiny bit (enough to spell out her name and identify important words), and she can understand Yu'hnsk and some stilted Vagapariñe from working with the local bookkeepers and mercantile ambassadors as a choregirl. She is generally a sponge for new information, up to an extent where she no longer feels the intrigue of mystery and tapers off.
