Subject 08 was the youngest and final experiment in Project GARGOYLE, a program created by the United States Secret Service to create a human super weapon to defend the US from enemy forces. Born of two USSS scientists, 08’s parents were kept secret from it to avoid bonding with its parents. At age 10, 08 begin receiving chemical treatments and surgical procedures to transform it from a mere child to something extraordinary.

Approximately eight years later, many improvements had been made to 08. It boasted enhanced brain capacity and stamina, highly increased durability, the ability heal itself and other living organisms, and enhanced metal beam emission. The topper on the tree is its magnificent, mechanized wings, which, despite being crafted from a classified material, are fully controllable, functional and even retractable. When retracted, the wings are compressed in and around 08’s vertebrae. As such, they take up all the space between the cervical spine (C1-C7), thoracic spine (T1-T12), lumbar spine (L1-L5), sacral spine (S1-S5), and the tailbone. However, when extended to their full capacity, these wings reach a wingspan of 12.2 feet (146.4 inches), rivaling the Wandering Albatross, at 12.1 feet (145.2 inches). Side effects of these operations include darkened, greying skin, bone protrusions (such as horns), metallic material discovered in its cancellous (spongy) bone tissue, and malformed scapulae, leaving gaping holes in them.

Subject 08 is known most for its extreme temper and penchant for violence. At the age of twelve, 08 once flew into a rage that left its caretaker missing the majority of their scalp. Previously, the subject had shown symptoms of severe catatonia, including negativism, mutism, and mannerism, for years leading up to the incident. The underlying cause of such an abrupt change in temperament is unknown. However, minutes after prying the subject from the poor caretaker, 08 returned to its previous state of catatonia, still clutching a tuft of hair. Since that day, Subject 08 has continued to have seemingly random violent outbursts, characterized by particularly grotesque injuries left in its wake. As of the date of this recording, dozens of similar incidents and thousands of microaggressions (such as making threats, engaging in self-harming, and destroying its enclosure in effort to escape) have occurred, leaving no choice but to hold 08 muzzled, bound, and kept in a higher security enclosure. Subject 08 is to have no contact with all human beings assigned to this project. With all of this being said, Subject 08 appears to have given up on its attempts to mangle any staff or escape the facility. It spends a majority of its "free time" pouring over the outdated scraps of textbooks we have graciously allowed it to peruse.
