his dad was a politician and his mother had cheated on him with another man during their marriage. they passed off him off as his birth son under the public eye but behind closed doors his father was neglectful to august and his birth daughter, as well as his mother who fell into drinking and gambling due to not being able to find it in herself to leave him to be with the man she was actually in love with. as a result august mostly ended up raising his little sister and eventually managed to graduate early, get a full scholarship, and work on coding his program that he aspires to make to help his little sister.

now mainly provides for himself, though his parents aren't aware of this; and they provide him an allowance just to keep his mouth shut about things with his parents, which he usually keeps a bit to help with some of his rent, and the rest to the side for emergencies.
