Overview
Ayanna Neeyutnee
The Former Queen
18
Cisgender woman (she/her)
Ayanna Naeveah Laverre
Queen Neeyutnee, Ayanna Laverre
Naboo
Name
Unlike many former queens, Ayanna opted to take her regent name as her surname upon stepping down as queen.
Looks
Human (Nabooian origin)
Average height, slender build often obscured by the many layers of her dress
Average
Light brown with olive undertones
5'5"
Black
Brown
Mid-back length, a bit wavy.
Ayanna has a narrow face and a pointed chin often tilted just slightly up. She has a nose with a long bride and a short, flat tip and brown eyes with short lashes. Her lips are full even without the layers of paint added by her royal dressers. Some would describe her face as pinched or severe since her resting expression is neutral with the corners of her lips tilting downward. During her time as queen, Neeyutnee was known for wearing gowns of many layering fabrics and few dangling jewels or fancy detailing. This is mostly because, as she served during wartime, she needed to be able to shed the identifying layers if necessary and have her body type obscured in case a handmaiden was taking her place.
Unlike most other queens, Ayanna did not wear the twin circles on her cheeks--since she was elected during an active war, she instead wore a red triangle on each cheek, the tip pointing downward, and a half-moon beneath her hairline.
Nature
Ayanna was known as a protoge of Padme Amidala's, and Amidala's influence was clear as the young girl steered Naboo through the Clone Wars--much like Amidala, she planned to continue on in politics after her term as queen ended, as well as to keep her royal name as her surname.
Less of a scholar than her predecessor Queen Jamillia, Ayanna was less concerned with the nuances of politics as a subject and more concerned with their implementation into daily life and keeping her planet afloat during the Clone Wars. She was known as level-headed yet personable and was a shoe-in as Amidala's successor as senator.
Though they were often pitted against each other, Neeyutnee has a lot of respect for Jamillia, often saying that she draws equally on her as she does Amidala for her role as queen. In many ways, the two are alike--the biggest difference is that Jamillia is a scholar and Neeyutnee is a politician. An idealist who has steadily grown disillusioned, but unlike Jamillia, she remains hopeful for a diplomatic solution--though she grows less hopeful every day.
