If we're being technical, Julia is an alternate reality version of Joey Puglisi in which he never transitioned and never lost his team, a version of Joey who never even considers a reality outside of cisgender, heterosexual womanhood. She's married to her childhood friend and former teammate Barry Rodgers and she's a housewife with no kids, a husband she can't stand, and a thoroughly unfulfilling life. She's a realist, a cynic, someone deeply so deeply grounded in her idea of reality that anything else is too dangerous to consider because she can't risk upsetting the life she has. She's tired and angry but who wouldn't be?
