Nature
Hailing from a very rough upbringing and childhood, Abigail's always wanted to set things right both with her family but in a sense the world too. She has seen the chaos that people are capable of causing and resents it, always wanting to keep things tidy, clean and in a working condition.
Biased strongly towards the extrovert type rather than being an introvert, Abigail enjoys spending time with those she considers friends and mates. She is quick to bond with people even in unlikely situations and most assuredly likes to work - double gain if those she works with are her friends too. When the going gets tough or she needs to cool down for a moment Abigail likes to take time off by either reading fiction she likes or training her skills.
In the little free time Abigail gets, she likes to either read books concerning history or mystery (she has a penchant for mysteries of the psychic kind, but any other are fine too). Her naval training has made her acutely aware of the need to keep her skills sharp translating into her always keeping both her physical but also mental form in as good of a condition as she can. And while she won't admit it outright, she also admires slug weapons both basic and more modern to a grand degree.
Abigail is a natural technician and engineer - if something breaks, she is absolutely sure she can fix it right up. While she isn't exactly a natural leader, she is most capable of taking an order and making sure its executed. Another talent of her is the ability to quickly get accustomed to strangers and make new friends - easygoing and social are apt descriptors of her character.
Hailing from a high-technology high density planet, Abigail has a natural prejudice against people whose heritage is from "the outer worlds", as she refers to them. Due to propaganda, she also has a strong resentment against Shariyans, and is generally otherwise reserved against those she is prejudiced against.
Abigail is an optimist to a fault - by her nature, she assumes the best of people even when things start getting hot or put on an edge. Furthermore, while she is aware that people can be untrustworthy she is quick to bond and thereby also quick to ignore red flags or lies a perceived friend might pull.
Abigail is usually very social and likes to hang out with people and make new friends, albeit she respects those who she considers to be her "superiors" and will usually be more reserved or formal around them.
Social
Whether or not Abigail likes politics is not something she declares with pride. She'll conservatively engage in debate but more often than not just entirely stay out of it. She has however voted once in the Aegis elections.
Abigail particularly likes the color Green.
While not exactly a food critic or fanatic, Abigail always liked her Mothers cooking - especially her personal spin on a favored local dish called "Merchant's Delight", it deriving its name from the food that is served to passerby's and traders in the high orbit ports of her homeworld.
Abigail's favourite possession that she always brings with her on her deployments and jobs are two photographs of her family, one taken many years ago and the other just before her older sister Anna left deployed in the Navy.
Abigail doesn't strictly have a favorite weapon as such, but she much prefers handling pistols over any other form of small-arms, although she has some competency with carbines and rifles too as part of her basic training.
Abigail doesn't really have a favorite animal, and if she's asked she always responds with that she never was much of an animal person anyway.
Abigail works as a Head Engineer/Technician on board the starship .
While not strictly following any of the established religions, Abigail has always been spiritual of herself readily believing in what many others would just call "crock". Recent events have doubled her faith in the psychic world.
History
Past high school, Abigail studied towards a mechanic's degree at a reasonably accredited senior-level school but soon decided against it and chose to follow her sister Anna's footsteps and joined the Aegis Navy, eventually being assigned the role of an Engineer/Technician on-board a cruiser.
Counting years and days in interstellar space is tricky, but referencing her homeworld her birthday would be on the 23rd of July.
Abigail Jeressin hails from the world of Elegynn II, born and raised to a relatively poor but social and tight-knit family she enjoyed her modest upbringing, making close friends both at and outside of school. While she always had a good group of friends, her closest one was her sister Anna with the two spending a lot of time together under the years. On Abigail 16th birthday Anna - who at the time was studying to be a history teacher, dropped out after her first year to join the Navy.
Having always looked up to her sister, Abigail was thrilled by her sisters choice as the Navy was something she always had aspired to join and was planning on doing it as soon as she turned elegible at the age of 18. Anna passed bootcamp and was assigned as turret lieutenant onboard a battlecruiser. However during her deployment, the ship she was part of was destroyed in an engagement with a Shariyan task force, and sank presumably with all hands as no lifeboats were detected or picked up. After the news were delivered to her by the navy, both her parents and Abigail herself was devastated. The following years continued in a haze of regret and grief until her mother was diagnosed with a fatal illness, and died shortly afterwards too. A few years later, Abigail - being advised by both her mother and father not to follow her sisters footsteps joined an engineering institute but studied with little enthusiasm.
Halfway into her first year, already making a name for herself as being both a slacker and "incompetent", she dropped out much to her father's regret and joined the Navy engineering corps. She was assigned to the cruiser the ACSS Kaleria, upon which she served for 1 year before being transferred over to the battleship ACSS Henessy, after a brief shore leave where she visited her old friends and family back at Elegynn II. During this time Abigail also suffered severe injuries from an explosion due to unsecured munitions that left her scarred for the rest of her life but fortunately she survived.
Having finished a term of 4 years, she decided to leave the navy and try to find her sister, or at the very least her final resting place, chartering a ship with her savings out to neutral space where she eventually signs onto a civilian trading vessel and begins her new career with newly found intent.
Family
Abigail does not have any pets.
