Nature
They often come across as a volatile lunatic to strangers and an endearing lunatic to friends through a combination of pure honesty, unwavering confidence, and total fearlessness.
Masochistic to the point of concern (they don't self-harm for no reason, but they will be grinning while getting stabbed or punched in the face). Painfully and unwaveringly honest about their thoughts and opinions.
They don't trust humans, especially those who loudly proclaim their dedication to Hes. Thinks all Keirta are brainwashed idiots.
They're a natural-born magical prodigy. Somehow have a way to worm themself into the hearts of beings who take the time to get to know them. Incredibly tenacious and won't give up no matter what.
Archery (marksmanship in general), mixing drinks, and pastrymaking.
They're naturally reckless, both with their actions and their words. Not typically in an impulsive way, but more in a "I don't care what happens to me or what the damage to my reputation is as long as what needs to get done gets done" kind of way. Strategically reckless, so to speak. They plan out their moves in a strategic way that makes sense to them but often doesn't make sense to anyone else (mostly because they are not at all concerned about being seen as a villain). For example, they don't punch the annoying but important visitor in the face because their emotions got the better of them, they do it to prove just how serious they are about whatever the issue is. Those around them, both friend and foe, say that they were born without a sense of fear.
Their loyalty and trust towards close allies and friends borders on blind devotion; they confide their fears and weaknesses to them without hesitation and would start a war for them even if it meant bringing the wrath of the entire world down on their head. That doesn't mean that true trust is easy to win. They don't doubt every intention or test a potential ally, and they take them at their word. They do, however, make it very clear that like will be repaid with like and betrayal will not be tolerated.
They hate hiding their true power and personality and won't compromise who they are for anything, even if it could lead to their death. They don't inflate their ego, but they don't doubt themself either. However, they don't take unnecessary risks if it concerns the trust of their friends (they won't shy away from a risky plan just because of potential harm to their friends, only if it would require the deliberate sacrifice of one or more of them). They also don't tend to pick fights they know with 100% certainty they can't win (they won't back down from an inevitable one, they just don't deliberately provoke them). They know what they can do and trust in their abilities and those of their allies, but they also don't pretend they don't have limitations.
They feel their emotions deeply and freely, so much so that they're often fighting tooth and nail against their urge to act directly upon them. They were less talented at that in their youth but worked very hard to learn how to acknowledge the emotions and then let them pass through. They say what they mean and don't beat around the bush, often being so honest people think they're bluffing or lying. They don't take themself too seriously when it comes to their reputation and enjoy committing to the bit--but only when it comes to their reputation.
Practically fearless. Warped sense of pain.
Aromantic, pansexual.
Fancy or complicated drinks, extravagant pastries (making and eating), cool summer nights, the taste of blood, a good sword, spending time with friends, pain.
Devotees of Hes, plain alcohol (especially hard liquor), people calling their bluff (they never bluff), tomatoes in any other form but their original, using daggers to fight (they'll do it, but they won't like it. Using daggers to stab someone is a totally different matter, one they enjoy immensely).
Post-reincarnation, there's a pretty big gap between what they know they can do and what their current body is capable of. They're very bad at knowing their physical limits, especially when it comes to being injured.
Voice
They are very blunt and don't mince words. No flowery language, lots of contractions. They do have a lot of emotion in their words, though.
"I'm Mistral. What do you want?"
Yes, and they're exceptionally good at it thanks to their magical genius status.
Social
They believe there is some sort of real divinity out there, and that Hes is not it.
Monarchy.
King of Pandemonium.
Red. It's cliche but they truly do appreciate it.
Either a pastry made of flaky layers (like a croissant but not French) or a small pie-like pastry filled with layers of creme and jam.
The sword the seven dukes got them as a coronation present.
Double-edged longsword.
Big 'ol fluffy dogs.
Monarch.
History
They don't know their real birthday because of their abandonment, but their adoptive parents found them on July 29th, 1796 of the Age of Chaos and that became their birthday.
They were taught by their adoptive parents and then by themself in their first life, and totally by themself in their second life.
They were born into a small village near the border between the human kingdoms and Pandemonium as a Descended Sinner. Everyone in the village (parents included) believed that those afflicted with this curse was a bad omen. Even though they were just a baby, the village voted unanimously to kill them. Because they were a baby, though, the village decided to abandon them in the woods for the animals to eat instead of killing them directly.
Luckily for them, a trio of wandering mercenaries happened upon them. All three were orphans themselves, and none of them were very religious. Thus, they took pity on them and decided to help. They knew no orphanage would take them, so they decided they would raise the child themself.
Mistral spent their first 8 years of life on the road, hiding from the rest of the world. They had a front-row seat to all manners of violence and suffering, as their adoptive parents didn't believe in sheltering them from the real world they would inevitably have to face. They were taught how to defend themself from the moment they could physically hold a sword.
Their life tilted on its head when they were 8. Up until then the three mercs had spent most of their time on the road, camping and hiding from any vaguely religious people they found. When they needed to go into town one would stay with Mistral while the other two got supplies. Their luck only held out for so long. One day, they crossed paths with a group of human Flowerknights. The three mercenaries tried their best to hide Mistral, but they were too late. The knights saw Mistral and immediately demanded the mercenaries hand them over.
Naturally, the mercs refused. The knights stated that they would take the child by force. The mercs really did love Mistral, so they told them to run while they bought some time. Mistral didn't want to, but the mercs didn't allow them to argue. They ran into the woods, and although the mercs were talented, they couldn't hold their own against an entire group of knights and were captured.
Mistral wandered through the woods for a while and eventually came across a town. They knew full well how dangerous their eyes were, so they resorted to pretending to be blind to avoid being run out of town. This ploy worked in their favor for a variety of reasons, in the end. No one took the scrawny, blind street rat seriously, so they were able to overhear all sorts of information and wander into almost any place by claiming they got lost. Secondly, having to cover their eyes resulted in them having to train their magic sense and regular senses to avoid walking into walls all the time.
At 11 years old, they overheard that their adoptive parents were getting executed in one of the capital cities, and quickly headed there to try and save them. In the end, they were too late to save them, but just early enough to have a front-row seat to their beheading.
This sight was too much to bear and they genuinely lost their mind. All they wanted to do was avenge their deaths, so they tried to attack the Flowerknights. They were pretty decent with a sword, but were no match for the knights, especially since there was a Keirta there as well.
They were going to be killed regardless, but once the knights saw their eyes, it was decided they would be executed on the spot. With their head against the stone soaked in their adoptive parents' blood and the untamed rage swirling inside of them, they spontaneously unlocked an entirely new form of magic: blood magic. In a display of hysterical strength, they killed all the knights as well as every living being in a 1000 yard radius of the stage with blood. They fled the scene with the last of their strength, cursing humanity and the God they worshiped who condoned such acts of cruelty.
Since the entirety of the human kingdoms were after them after that massacre, they fled to Pandemonium to recover and plan their next move.
As it turned out, it was the best place they'd ever lived. In terms of living quality, it was about the same as the human kingdoms. But they didn't have to hide there. Once the Elethri saw their eyes, they just treated them like a regular person.
They had entered the Dukedom of Wrath, and in order to make some money, they joined the border guard. For the most part they were fighting wild monsters and training up their combat and magic skills.
About a year later, the Keirta launched their long-planned attack against Pandemonium. Mistral had understandable anger against anything related to Hes, and Keirta were very much related to Hes. Thusly, they went all-out against the Keirta and quickly gained a reputation for being absolutely ruthless and absurdly powerful. Soon enough, both the Elethri and the Keirta had no choice but to acknowledge them.
Mistral hadn't planned on leading the reunification of Pandemonium, but it just seemed to be happening on its own. After all, the forces of Wrath couldn't fig tht off the Keirta all on their own. The other Dukes didn't send any armies because it was Wrath's job to manage the border, in return for such a large amount of land. Mistral knew that if it kept going like this, they would lose. They petitioned the Duke to ask for help from her peers, but she refused, claiming that a human couldn't possibly know what was best for the country.
Being a stubborn person, Mistral resolved to have the Dukes unite at all costs. The Duke of Wrath wouldn't listen to reason, so they used force instead. After being defeated, she had no choice but to do what they asked.
Using her authority, Mistral called a meeting of the Dukes. They only came because the Duke of Wrath asked, but as soon as they knew the circumstances of it, they claimed the meeting was void and left.
Being who they are, Mistral didn't give up there. After making sure the war wouldn't be lost in their absence, they set out on a campaign to get the rest of the Dukes under their control. It took quite a while, a lot of trips, and a lot of beating people up, but they were eventually able to get all seven Dukes to see eye-to-eye with them.
With the entirety of Pandemonium backing them, Mistral was able to drive back the Keirta forces completely.
They weren't satisfied with just that, though. They'd formed quite an attachment to the country, and the Dukes were quite receptive to them at the moment, so they decided to suggest that Pandemonium formally unites to make sure the Keirta could never threaten them again. The Dukes liked the idea, and to make sure there was no fighting about power, Mistral took the position of formal leader. From then on, they focused on building a proper kingdom powerful enough to dissuade anyone from attacking them ever again.
During the 94 years of peace, Mistral and the Dukes became close friends and the kingdom prospered. They started drinking Elethri blood in order to slow their aging and increase their toughness, given willingly and gladly by the Dukes. They also became friends with another Descendent (Ilina Lilium in disguise).
One day, seemingly out of nowhere, their Descendent friend tried to kill them and revealed herself to be a Keirta in disguise. She would've succeeded, if not for their special brand of magic and the Dukes' blood. Not long after that, the Keirta launched an attack on Pandemonium with a power they'd never had before. Mistral and the Dukes tried their hardest, but after 10 years of constant war, they were fully exhausted. The Dukes fell one after the other until only Mistral was left to face an entire army of Keirta on their own.
Knowing they couldn't win, they decided to sacrifice themself to try and give the rest of their kingdom a fighting chance. Expending every last spark of life within then, Mistral recreated the day they created their magic on a cataclysmic scale, killing a good 60% of the Keirta forces. They died, but their sacrifice ensured that Pandemonium wasn't completely wiped from the map.
