Emma was a toddler when she woke up alone with amnesia. obviously she never recovered her memories, but through the military (who had found her) it was found that her mother killed herself after thinking she had died and her father died a few years before. she couldn't really feel sad, not remembering them and all, but she still visits their graves when she can. she created new memories with the squad she's been with since graduating.
