Incredibly afraid of loosing people, so he doesn't really get close to anyone, (which is totally understandable) But he thinks of himself as the sole protector of Min-Jee. Whenever she gets and assignment, he's the first to be chosen as a background guard. He's someone who likes the feeling of being relied on, he always has to have the feeling of being needed just like everyone else, but he feels it intensely, when he doesn't he gets really down, its something he depends on, like someone who's dependant on a drug.

His motivation is the loss of 2 families, he wants to find them if possible, or get justice for their deaths, even If he never fully trusted them, he thinks that they at least deserve something

He gets too angry easily, and is overprotective of his sister

Dae-hyun doesn't enjoy when people tell him that they don't need protection, even if he's not close to them (he doesn't really get close to anyone, in fear of loosing them) and of course, he hates the Rose Holding Company.

Dae-Hyun always had it pretty rough, his family were in a situation where they were being pursued by Loan Sharks associated with the Rose Holding Company, stuff happened between the family and the Rose Holding Company, he had to leave - his parents forced him to for his own safety, which he resented them for, he wanted to protect them even though he was so young. He was taken in by the Zhous when he was around 10 or 11, and accidentally ended up bringing them into trouble only because of his lineage, he started to be pursued by gangs and whatnot because of his parents bullshit when we was around 14-15, and he would usually come home with new cuts and bruises. Dae-Hyun never fully trusted Min-jee's parents after the experience with his own, and so always confided in only her. She became something he always looked forward to after coming home from school, something he sought to protect and preserve.
After the incident with Min-Jee's family when he was 18 (she was 15) they set off to do anything to rebel against the Rose Holding Company, and after months of going through the roughest back streets of the city, they finally found what they wanted.

I think that Dae-Hyun's sexuality would be homosexual, I have no idea why, it just fits well in my head. He was born in Busan, and both of his birth parents were Korean
