Nature

Hobbies

Running, playing pranks, fishing, swimming, rock climbing, telling stories, scrapbooking (he saves absolutely everything!), and... pulling weeds. Sometimes it can be the most relaxing thing in the world for him.

Mannerisms

Talks with his hands. Stutters when approached to speak on the spot. Runs his fingers through his hair and rubs his neck when he’s tired. He gives off a bit of a mysterious vibe.

Motivations

Survival and recognition. He wants terribly to be acknowledged for doing something good.

Flaws

He’ll do anything as long as it’s convenient to his survival (cheating, lying, stealing, etc.). VERY clingy and needs affirmation like it's air. And even when he does get that sweet sweet affirmation, he has a hard time stopping his mind from doubting it.

Prejudices

The Japanese guards who tortured him at the POW camps, and by association, Japanese people as a race.

Talents

Running, stealth, speed, planning ahead (nothing goes overlooked with one of his pranks.), and patching up wounds. Boy Scouts experience does wonders for first aid/other survival skills.

Personality type

Strong and pretty optimistic, you won't ever see Louie just sit there and wait for the sweet release of death when there's danger afoot. You can count on him if you need some makeshift thing. Any makeshift thing (emphasis on 'makeshift'. But he does his best with what he's got.) He's something of a social butterfly and loves when he's attention's sweet center. Just make sure you don't make too much of a huge fuss about it, because then you'll stress him out. Everything in moderation, as they always say. Louie is also a pretty emotional person and will pour out his heart to those he loves. Except about his PTSD. He keeps that close to his chest, and he knows it breaks him.
Louie is also quick, stealthy, and clever, which makes him a brilliant prankster. And the terror of Torrance. Sometimes the two mean the same thing.

History

Education

He only got through kindergarten because he cheated off other kids (and how that is possible, I'm not really sure myself), but turned himself around and got a running scholarship to the University of California.

Background

Louie was born in Olean, New York, but moved to Torrance, California when he was 3. He has 3 siblings; a big brother (Pete) and two little sisters (Sylvia and Virginia).

Louie’s childhood was... quite something. Since his older brother Pete was the textbook definition of a Mary Sue as a kid, all the adults focused their attention on him and left Louie in the dust. Jealous of all the praise Pete was getting, Louie figured maybe he’d finally be noticed by someone if he acted bad instead of good? So he did just that. Since he was 5, he was already drinking, smoking, stealing pies from bakeries, scamming scrap metal vendors, popping the air out of his teacher’s car tires, the lot. Louie was known as the terror of Torrance for 9 years before Pete decided to step in and find a more constructive way for Louie to use his stealth and speed. Soon the “terror of Torrance” became the Torrance Tornado, going on to set a high school mile record and compete in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

But in 1941... that all changed. Post-Pearl Harbor, Louie was scooped up and put in a B-24 to bomb the snot out of the Pacific Theater, and in the summer of ‘43, a bomber plane called the Green Hornet had an engine failure and crashed in the ocean. Louie and two other friends (Mac and Phil) were lost at sea for 47 days.
