This doesn't really count, but genetically he's predisposed to gain more weight than average. But since he lives such a tough life and doesn't get enough nutrition, it doesn't really affect him. He was a cute chubby kid tho :3
Oh, and he has (kind of) seasonal depression. He was a wanderer for a lot of his life, and during the winter there would be long stretches where he'd be out in the middle of nowhere with nobody to talk to. Being a naturally social person, this hit him hard, and he really struggles to deal with loneliness. Nowadays, being really cold is a trigger for him. During the winter he can get quite clingy towards his friends, and if they're not around, he'll hang out with total strangers in his desperation to avoid solitude.

In the days before the war, digital photography was at its peak. In Bernon's home, only one family photo was ever printed out and set on the mantel. Bernon salvaged it from his house when he left and keeps it with his belongings, carefully wrapped in cloth so the glass doesn't break. When the Deorn Hunters gave him his own room in the barracks, he hung it up at the head of his cot.

Doesn't really like weapons, prefers hand-to-hand. He's a decent shot with a hunting rifle, though.

Wishes the government would do more to help American refugees in Canada. Firm believer in the Deorn Peace Treaty, but can't exactly mention that around the other Hunters.

He's not important enough to have business partners, and too friendly to call anyone a mere "alliance".

Both his parents were Catholic, it's probably closest to his philosophy.

He has a love/hate relationship with farm animals. Goats conspire against him, and cows seems to think he's their protector.

Formally educated through to one year at college. Was gonna major in agriculture, but the war...yeah.

(Many of the following details don't add up, I'll have to edit it later.) Grew up on a farm in Idaho. His elderly parents died when he was nineteen in college, so he dropped out and took care of the farm as best he could by himself after that. He was in the middle of a legal battle with the government when the war started. The farm was burnt down, and Bernon, not knowing what else to do, started training for the army. But the idea of killing people upset him and soon he quit that too. After wandering around the country for a year-ish, He met Mike, and together they joined the Deorn Hunters. He's been working there ever since.
