Cedric’s favorite possession is the pair of converse he was wearing when he, Charles, and Conrad rode bikes through the woods together. It had rained the previous day, so the trails were muddy, and Conrad fell off of his bike, sending up a huge spray of the gunk. Charles took the brunt of it, and, since Cedric was behind said Charles, he only got a few specks on his converse. That didn’t last long, though. Pretty soon, Charles had gotten pulled down into the mud trying to help Conrad, and Cedric had gotten pulled down trying to help Charles, and the boys dissolved into an all-out mud war, their bikes forgotten. They came back muddy and tired, and their parents were horrified, immediately washing their clothes and forcing the trio to take a shower (separately, of course,) but the boys’ shoes were hopeless. Charles’s and Conrad’s got thrown out, but Ced kept his as a reminder of the day he had let loose and actually had pure fun with his buddies, not worrying about social norms or what others would think.
