Fyllo's father, Hason, was a greedy noble who left his family to marry Princess Vel. Vel's father forced his daughter to marry rich, and she was unhappily married to Hason. Hason had a son with Vel, but Vel was injured and couldn't take giving birth to another child. But Hason raped her after Vel's father's death, and Vel gave birth to Fyllo, dying due to her husband's carelessness. Fyllo was wet-nursed by a kindly phoenix named Aurora. Sadly, Aurora died when Fyllo got breast cancer. Fyllo survived, but her wet nurse also got the condition and died. Fortunately, Fyllo could eat solid foods by then. When Fyllo was 10, she witnessed a butcher brutally kill a pig and griffon. She told Hason and Autumn about the slaughter. Her father, of course, didn't care, but her brother had the butcher executed, and the animals freed. When Hason heard of this, he got furious and told his son that execution was in his hands. He did allow his children to take in the animals that were held captive. Fyllo took in all of the animals but a horse, who was taken in by Autumn. Fyllo took in the cub of the griffon she witnessed the death of, and named him Leoquilla.
