This character is one of the originals. She is a friend, a leader and a tortured soul who wishes the best for others. She is a medical student even though she is responsible for putting several people in hospitals... And in morgues.
She doesn't want to be a hero or a villain but yet keeps having to save others from crises or harming those who violate morality whether it be mental or global or universal or reality as a whole. She is a close friend of Bruce and several other characters.

Her body type is of a very athletic tone. Her arms and legs are muscular from competing in sports and training. She's tall but not lanky and is quite curvy. A good body type to compare her to would be either volleyball or swimmer athletes.

She has these red, almost tribal looking, pigment patterns on her limbs. They look like tattoos but were actually the result of several experiments. They glow when fire mutation is in use.

(Is still debating which course to take. Either stay in the hospital and work in intensive care/Emergency ward or become a MICA/EMT paramedic who has specialized training. Usually most medically advanced on-scene and are doctors which travel alongside paramedics to treat on sight.

Rachel was born in Hinton (a town located in Alberta) Canada on the 17th December 1986 to an Owen and Lilith Simmons. Owen works as a lorry driver for a lumber company known as Lintwood industries whilst her mother is a housemaid. They were certainly not a wealthy family and barely had any income and struggled to pay their rent.
Rachel is believed to be an accident and her birth was certainly not wanted or planned. Her parents were keen on cigarettes and alcohol but not children.
From a very young age, Rachel was both physically, verbally and emotionally abused by her parents and was treated awfully. She slept under the stairs with no bed, had to cook and sew for herself alongside almost acting as a slave to her own parents. This, however, does not mean she wasn't intelligent and actually taught herself how to read and write to a respectable degree. She was never allowed outside to play with other children, was never given education or went to school.
From 12 onwards, Rachel's mother was sacked from her job as it was discovered she sole from properties she was hired to clean. This caused a bigger rift between her parents and decided to use their daughter as a conductor for their rage and malice. Their treatment of Rachel declined and became far more violent to the point where her father would put out his cigarettes on her arm or hit her. On one occasion, Rachel vividly remembers the time her mother broke her Ulna in a doorway after she dropped coffee on a carpet. That was the first time she went to the hospital and was treated for her injuries.
Due to her level of stress and suppressed aggression, not only did Rachel's mental state decline but caused her metahuman mutation to evolve. This lead to Rachel developing her pyrokinesis ultimately resulting in her hair to slowly change colour plus her skin to gain their iconic tribal-like pattern.
This only frightened Rachel more as her parents were anti-mutant supporters and would possibly kill Rachel if they discovered she was the very thing they despised.
On March 17th 1997, Rachel's father lost his temper with her and tried to burn her with his cigarette but failed as Rachel had become immune to burns and fire injuries due to her mutations. After her parents discovered her abilities, Rachel fled her home into the neighbouring woods where she wrote her pleas of help in her journal. She didn' make it far as her father gradually caught her and dragged her back home.
Both her parents now were furious and in a barbaric rage, grabbing knives and trying to seriously hurt their daughter. In a sudden surge of fear, hate, defence and determination, Rachel's abilities took over and she released a hellish blaze upon her home.
March 17th, Owen Simmons was discovered inside his flaming home burnt alive whilst Lilith lived with severe burns (unknown to Rachel).
Rachel was now fleeing through the woods away from her home on fire but was abducted by the Facility (They'd heard about the fire and had been reported to by the doctor which treated Rachel)
On March 18th, Rachel was taken the Facility to endure 15 years of human experimentation and torture from the Facility whom which taught her the life skills she was neglected form in her childhood, discovering, in fact, she was incredibly smart and learnt quickly.
Rachel was 26 when Insurgents run took place and after that spent 4 months accidentally causing forest fires and arson with everything she touched. After starting a fire at a warehouse on the outskirts of New Jersey, Bruce found her from a news report on the TV and they both were the first people to go to Abditory and start the Divergent programme, making her the deputy leader/leader of the group.
She continues to be a vital character in the series and become a qualified doctor after being her childhood dream.

Had no education as a child, taught herself to read, write and speak. Never went to school/was not homeschooled.
Was found to be highly intelligent in her Facility reports and was trained in education exercises to fulfill her full mental potential.
Is now working for medical degree.
