He was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. His parents gave him up for adoption directly after birth, and he was adopted when he was six. The family then moved to America. He was a pretty happy kid, third child out of four. He loves his siblings and his parents dearly. When he was sixteen years old he was walking home from SAT tutoring when a man came up from behind him, dragged him into an alley and attacked him. He barely remembers the experience--it's all screaming, crying, fighting, and begging. He remembers lying on the concrete alone, feeling sick and repulsive. He called 911 as soon as possible. The attack left him with extensive trauma, causing him to stop eating and sleeping. He wouldn't talk to anyone except for a stuffed fox (Zorro) his father gave him.

I think what frustrates him is that teenaged boys are supposed to be sex-crazed hormonal beasts. He's terrified of touching anyone or anyone touching him. He's frustrated because he just wants to be normal.

On a good day he is still introverted, although he's more social and open. On a bad day he refuses to speak or eat and he'd rather get in trouble with the nurses and staff than deal with his issue.
