In high school her choir was ‘invited’ to Carnegie hall after their director pulled a few strings. Valorie had a solo and was really well liked. She soon became famous in the Southwest for her voice. Valorie went to the University Of Southwest California and got married to Gerald Tillman when she was 23. She was a happy-go-luck person around this time. She had only one child, June Tillman, who died when she was 5 from a car accident. Valorie didn’t know how to handle this and soon fell into a depression.
